Hi,
I have recently installed Redhat9 - and the latest NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4349.run drivers.
Installation went fine (installer downloaded latest kernel binary for 2.4.20-9smp kernel)
I have 2 flat panel monitors - and previously, running under nv, only the right one was working (I hadnt enabled twinview at this stage - but still it was odd that it was the right monitor rather than the left that was displaying)
When I run X, there is a flicker - and then my left platpanel shows no input signal and the right one goes black.
After a while, the cooling fans start to get stronger - indicating CPU loaded - ie it has hung.
Any clues?

And the log (how do you attach multiple files?)

This is a known bug with SMP -> DVI systems. The current workarounds are to use an analog cable, use a UP kernel, or fall back to 1.0-4191. Unfortunately, only 1.0-4349 works with RedHat 9 due to glibc and kernel changes. We hope to have a fix out for this soon.
I apologize for the inconvenience...

I tried running the UP kernel (do I need to reinstall?) - but failed:

Yes - when you change kernels, you need to reinstall the NVIDIA driver.

Yep. 100%.
I re-installed the 4349 drivers with the UP kernel and all works fine (even TwinView)
Thanks.

Not to be a PITA - but how soon are we talking? Hours, days, Weeks?
Just want to know whether I should bother going back to 4191 so I can get my 2nd processor + hyperthreading back...

When it's ready! ;)
I hope it will be quite soon, but I don't have an exact ETA, and I probably shouldn't speculate on a date. I'm sorry I can't be more precise - as soon as I can be, you'll see it announced here.
