I've been reading the reviews (like everyone else) on the new 8800 GT. The cooling solution looks very nice, but one review I read stated that the 8800 GT GPU runs hotter under load (90C) that the 8800 GTS and the fan is noticably louder. Can anyone verify this? I know you can't go wrong with the performance of the 8800 GT, but it only has 512MB RAM and a 256-bit memory interface. The extra 128MB in the 8800 GTS may come in handy in DX10 games. Otherwise, the GT is the clear winner.

you bet, 8800gt fan is louder and annoying ony at more than 60%, where my old gtx at 100% was still quite.

Yes, indeed the GT is louder but what can you expect from a single slot cooler?
still its quieter than hd2900xt (refer to my thread LOL@ATIHD2900XT ... XD)

As already said, to me the card sounds fine untill you take the fan speed past 60% ..... with my old GTS i found the fan speeds was fine up to about 80%.

Thanks. I have my computer in a quiet bedroom. I can't really hear the card when I turn my computer on. After I've been playing for a while and go back to the desktop, I can hear the fan, but it isn't that loud. I wouldn't want a card with a loud fan.
