Its wrong to call it playable when you get 20-30fps on a good system today haha whata joke. playable is 40+ all the time and not below 30 even that is what i call playable.
Anyways I don't think I can resist having Crysis out and waiting for a card to play it. I just can't do it.

Who will not play Crysis until it runs perfect on VERY HIGH/Ultra?Me. And you are not crazy. :)
I play my games at 1920x1200, not less, so the way I see it, the real release date of Crysis will not be November 16th, but will be the day the new Nvidia Geforce9 Enthusiast card (Nvidia D9E) is released.
Until then, anything Crysis you think you are playing, will be nothing but ... a demo, a preview, a teaser.
C'mon, we have now been waiting for more than 3 years (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6103318.html?tag=result;title;8) for Crysis.
Why not wait just 3-4 months more? Why spoil it now?
It would be like watching the Transformers movie, for the first time, in 320x240 VCD resolution.
IMO its kind of unwise not to play the game just because its not smooth at max settings now. enjoy it now at whats your PC can play smoothly & replay it again when better spec hardware is available.
Crysis has high replayability value btw.We plan to replay it, yes, but with the Geforce10, in 2009.

No I'd be like comparing the DVD version to the HD DVD version on a 37" 1080p HDTV or something to that effect ;)
The game is impressive and attractive now and the 8800GTX plays the game fine IMO :)

I wanted to know if maybe are some more poeple out there who will do the same as me? Or i am the only one so crazy?
I dont really care much for the maxed settings, as long as i can play the game on fairly high detail with decent framerate its cool enough for me. (nana2)

The game looks too good on that setting not to. And I normally don't play games through more than once-twice. I can't play this game at a low resolution or medium/medium-high settings. It's like putting lipstick on a rottweiler.

If they fix the SLI to give at least 80% performance boost, I think "perfect" performance of Crysis could be reached with 2x OC 8800GTX (or 2x the new G92 128SP 8800GTS which will probably OC far better then G80 GTX/Ultra). At least I hope so, as this will be what I will do. If SLi won't give at least 70% more, I will be pissed! That would mean we cannot play Crysis at max in 1680*1050 with reasonable (45-50) and stable fps until mid 2008! (as the D8E in January 2008 will actualy be 2 GPU in SLI).
The optimization was done good for low,mid-end PCs, but bad for hi-end (Quad support?SLI?)!
LMAO at this thread. Shakes head and moves on.
Same here wont be playing it until my rig is more capable which I though was capable before playing the demo. The only game to play like **** on it.:thumbdwn:

I don't think I could wait more than 1 month. I'm lucky because I'm not too framerate sensitive so I should be able to enjoy the game with decent visual/framerate ratio. :)

I've thought about waiting on Crysis because Assassin's Creed comes out this week as well. I know I'll be able to run it decently but AC is looking better and better each time I see it.

30 fps in the crysis engine is perfectly playable. It's comparable to 50+ fps in any other game's engine. 30 fps on my system is smooth as glass. Lowering the details to get 40+ yields no noticable difference in game play.

30 FPS is playable, but its far from being "smooth as glass". When I'm in a fire fight, I definitely notice the difference between 30 fps and 45 fps. In the former case, shooting a moving target can be extremely annoying.
Why wait when you can play on very high now? :D

man i want it to look that wya too but letīs face it it isnīt the crysis we were promised hardware wise or not it will not look like that screen ever on a 9800GTX or 10800GTX they have changed way too much no way the game will ever look like that it will look like any other FPS with nicer physics but it isnīt a revolutionary game in any way nor will it ever be
but still a heck of a banger but thatīs all it is a banger shooter like COD4 TIMESHIFT and such only it looks nicer so:thumbdwn: for Crysis
I have gotten used to the fact that it is NEVER going to run butter smooth, or even moderately good with my system but I still play with 100% maxed out settings!! Getting an average of 16/18fps but I don't care at this stage tbh. Just can't stand to look at the game under less than very high settings!
