is any one out then use a TT TR2 430watts power suger on a 8800GTS or 8800GT 512. i have a friend who is a TT TR2 430w psu on a Evga 8800GTS 320 MB and a AMD X2 4400 with 2x512md and two hard drive and hesay some time the pc will restart on him. when he play game like COD, COD2, HL, HL2 far cry. i mod thr can by put a 120 fan on it and the temp when down to like 45-50 and on laod 60-65. so i know it is not the tamp no more he was get lock up and artifacts. so then is why i mod the card with a 120 fan on it.

so can the restart be casue by the power suger. on the 12+ it is 18A and my friend is not look to gte a new psu. so he want my Evga 8800GTS 640 and i take his 8800GTS 340 or should i do the step up for him and get him a 8800GT.

Yes the restarts and lockups are caused by the power supply ,It only has 18amps on the 12v rail. The Minimum amps needed on the 12v rail is 22amps for the 8800GT and the minimum amps for the 8800GTS is 26amps.Doing the stepup for a 8800GT is the best way to go.But he needs to get a better power supply ,you can get a CORSAIR 550W Power Supply for $85 with the $15 rebate and it has 41amps on the 12v rail.
