Why do you anticipate HL2 when Counter Strike Condition Zero or Team Fotress 2 have not even been whispered of lately.:o

I was just wondering because one of my friends told me he heard something about half-life 2 so I was just wondering if anyone else knew anything. :p

In May '03 Maximum PC there was a REFERANCE to Half-Life 2 when they were reviewing the gf-fx and 9800 pro, saying how you will be able to run "Doom 3 and Half Life 2" with all the cool effects, but it was just a blurb...

rumors have been going around for months that hl2 will be shown at e3 this year. Nvidia and ati had alot to do with info leakage i heard.

But it is really happeng.

If doom3 and half life 2 are realeased around the same time there is no doubt in my mind that Half life 2 will sell alot more.

Remember even though Hl itself is pretty much dead..there are over like what 500,000 people that still play its mods(probably about 350,000 of them play CS)

And even though none of them play HL anymore they will buy the game because of interest of it. Plus all those other people that half left the the HL community over the years figuring the new game would never come out...they will be back.

I say itll go gold in 2 weeks

as to ads...that's great. how long were ads for Tiberian Sun in magazines before the game actually shipped? a hell of a long time if I remember correctly.

As long as they get rid of their 'stupid' little "LETS CHANGE THE RESOLUTION WHEN YOU HIT ESCAPE" menu system the half life2 engine wouldnt be that bad.

Me and my friends have had a discussion of why the HL engine dose looks so diffrent from Quake3 and Unreal/2 engines.

Somehow i can instantly tell if the picture is from half life or not. Kinda werid.

yeah, there was an ad in the original C&C for TS.

in all fairness, Westwood was going to produce TS after C&C, but instead opted to do Red Alert using the same C&C engine.

Yeah, sometimes the marketing jumps the gun and advertizes a LONG time before its relased.
