It's been a busy week, but we finally have posted a review of an NVIDIA based GeForce 8800 GT graphics card. The honor goes to MSI and their NX8800GT.

Let's just cut to the chase and get down to business :)

Even at the resolution of 1920x1200, the MSI NX8800GT is such a strong competitor to the GeForce 8800 GTX, that the same AA settings that were reported at the resolution of 1680x1050 are also reported here. Once again, the NX8800GT is outperforming the GeForce 8800 GTX in Dark Messiah and in two of the three settings in Oblivion.

Check it out here - http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/msi_geforce_nx8800gt/index.shtml

Have you tried to overclock it?

No, I haven't tried that yet. :)

Woot NVIDIA's first Billion dollar quarter.

Nice review Mike, lot of infomation.

If I was purchasing this model I would not expect much from overclocking given the cooling application on the card. The memory is probably very close to max and not much, if any, headroom left and would probably negate any worthwhile performance increase.

Overall results are far better than I expected, especially at 1920x1200. :)

Spent some time this evening overclocking. Here is what I was able to get:

From 660/1650/950 to 700/1750/1100

Doom 3 - 1680x1050 @ 8x AA from 66 fps to 73 fps = 10.6%

Better than I expected.

Nice review Mike.In your opinion : is the overclocked GT (700/1750/1100) on par with the GTX ?

But we're in luck as I just posted a link to bit-tech's 3870 Crossfire review, which has DX9 and DX10 results from a ton of graphics cards:

Did you guys see the silent 8800 GT review over at Anandtech?

DAMN that thing gets hot! Then again, that case is far from the ideal home for a passive card.

But I still want one. ;)

Yeah i've seen the XP results.
thanks for the bit-tech's link. looks like the difference over a single GTX is well worth it!
