download it from here
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=163
when it asks to install available updates say YES... its not the nvidia drivers causing it not to work.... its vista not allowing unsigned drivers to run
Vista 64 is a real pain about this but... Here
1. Open a command prompt as administrator
2. type “bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS”
You have to restart after.

Does anything, except for doing it on every boot?

Nothing that I can find :)
It's not too bad of a PITA to hit F8, I usually only have to boot uo once a week-I have seen some "workarounds" for various programs such as Coretemp, I don't recall the whole process but believe the program is set up as a service and/or started in the "Startup" folder?
I'll see if I can find the link/relevant website.
