I sold a BFG 8800 GTS OC2 640 so i could buy the GT and get some much needed money

the buyer had their account hacked. basically i lost my card now as well as the cost of the sale £277. im in bad debt now because paypal refunded the buyer the money

its been a bad last 2 weeks :(

i also lost the money for a logitech G7 on ebay

no lies and i have been pretu depressed

Well, the first email states the release date has changed to Nov 9th. The 2nd email says its available, and it could be either a preload or release. So anything is possible. Also, the unlock key is available at the EA store.

There's one poster on another forum that has like 40 minutes left on the download. So we'll see soon.

Just got off the phone with my contact at EA. This looks like just a pre load however the comm. manager really does not know what is going on with this email.

So I would say it's a mix up via EAlink and will only preload the game for later release.

More info as it becomes available.

Actually I would sue the buyer if he doesn't want to carry half the loss. Sure he got hacked but he is responsible to keep his account/computer as secure as possible but of course the case is different when it happened because of eBay themselves. He also got the money back from Paypal and you have nothing so in the least it would be only fair to split the money and even the losses (until the hacker is found). There are also certain rules and laws because each finished auction on ebay is an actual contract so I do recommend you to look into it and don't give up. :)

When you have it downloaded does it have all files in one exe? Or is it some password locked file? Because if its like the demo was then you can use winrar to open the exe and extract it to the hard drive. Then swap out the install utility from the beta and use it to install the game. You should be able to use your beta key or even the real key to start the install. Use the auth checker found under tools directory. If that doesn't work then you still have all the pak files that are needed you can just put those into your beta/game directory and use the beta/demo exe to load the game. All that would need to be done is to mess with the GameDemo.pak file under libs/ui/ then swap out the menu_startmenu_beta.gfx and swf with the menu_startmenu.gfx swf and the ingame_menu_beta.gfx and swf with the ingame_menu.gfx and swf. This would open all the menus under the demos/beta. This is sort of the method I used to get the LAN option to open under the beta.

I think I'm going to download the preload from the ea store when I get home and see if I can get it to work.
