Okay, this I can't explain.
Whenever I play Call of Duty 4 for a prolonged session, say 2 or 3 hours, if I quit and immediately load up Crysis my frame rate is almost doubled. Somewhere between 30 and 40 fps. Normally I get in the mid 20's. I doubled checked the settings menu, it didn't change between loads. Some screens:

Does COD4 overclock my GPU? Switch on some hidden feature? I have no idea. But as soon as I quit Crysis and load it back up, or restart my PC, my frame rate drops back to the mid 20's.
Can anyone else check this out?
My specs are:
Windows XP (haven't tried this in Vista)
Geforce 8800GTX
3GB RAM

Lol, exactly! This has happened three times, all after playing COD4 for a few hours (amazing game btw). COD4 is definitely doing something to help Crysis.

No point if that has no effect on DX10 :o

Hey dienamite what settings are you playin Crysis on?
Shouldn't your regular FPS be around 30-40 and just because of something weird in your system you get less FPS regularly and for some weird reason after playing CoD4 you get the normal FPS?

Everything set to high, screen res 1680x1050. I haven't tried playing Crysis with the very high settings yet (with them I usually get around 20fps).

Heh, check your drivers and your system...
It seems I was right:

At these settings you should get the aftermentioned performance. as kupco said something is not right with your drivers/settings & playing CoD4 fixes it.
