The Ultra X3 1600W Modular Power Supply (lee63) http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTM4MywxLCxoZW50aGlzdWFzdA==

This thing is great, easy to work with and looks awesome ;) The only bad thing was, I had to get a custom 24 pin mobo cable made as the one that comes with it is only 19.5 inches in length and I needed at last 22 inches, plus the stock cable is its butt ugly, other than that this PSU rocks ;)

Sweet! Looks nice lee63 now all you need is 2 or 3 9800 GTX cards for you're system! :D

1600watt?! That's insane, but to be honest I've haven't heard too many good things about Ultra PSUs. :(

I wish Sintek would get back into the PSU Business.

They use to make some of the best psu's in the business and are about to release some newer revisions including a 1000 Watt PSU soon. Check out their kick a $ $ website! :D

Yeah with a PSU like that your PC starts to become more of a burden on your power bill than some clothes dryers.

You guys are so clueless...

a PSU only draws what is needed and at a 80% efficiency 800W 10,000W it makes no difference ;)

That's cool but I really hope they'll develop in the other direction. Low power consumption is the way to go! Performance/Watt.
Yeah, but when I would max out Crysis and play for a while, my whole PC would shut down and thats with a PCP&C 1KW-SR :( I have an electrician coming buy next weekend to install a dedicated 20A Circuit for this PSU lol:headexplode:

Well I hope your new monster takes care of it, but I would with 90%certainty guarantee you that the PSU wasn't the problem unless it was just a defective unit (and PC P&C aren't really known for those.) The entire load of the system was probably around 500-600W.

Not even 3 Ultras would use up a 1000W PSU.. much less a 1600W one...

If your Ultras are on the stock coolers then that could be what it was. I know that mine would get up to 90C before I put it on water (now it loads at 55C), and it's usually at those temps that Nvidia cards tend to freeze or artifact.

Enjoy your new PSU. If they ever have a blackout over there, then you could probably supply power to half the west coast. :)

very true, to many of my friends bought these POS ultra PSU from TigerDirect. Then they started having hardware failure left and right.

Actually, Ultra powersupplies used to be pretty bad, yes, but the 1600W unit is a rock solid unit.

I would get one :D

I had an Ultra X-Connect 500 I think it was, and I had a couple of fan wires short together and just like a chain reaction, almost every wire in the case got burnt to a crisp. The PSU never shut down either.

No thanks, Ultra.

I've had more issues with PCP&C PSUs than any other brand, and trust me I've tried them all. This PSU has a lifetime warranty does PCP&C offer that, and if it craps out then I will prolly go back to Silverstone or maybe try something else. BTW did you even take the time to read the reviews??? It doesn't matter what make of PSU, GPU, Motherboards, Ram, etc, they all have horror stories, so why not give Ultra a chance to prove themselves here.
