I look at the week's Sunday ads, and head over to Circuit City or Best Buy(usually), whichever has the game cheaper.

BB or CC or Compusa for me. I do occasionally buy a digital download version if it's late at night and I for some reason want the game right then.

Digital Downloads... I would rather not have the CD anymore and most done come with much of box stuffers (and CEs are usualyl a waste of money) so Im not really losing anything.

I prefer boxed copies, but Valve always offers some bonus I can't resist (CS: Source beta for Half-Life 2, TF2 beta for Ep. 2) so I download all their games.

Oh, you can also sometimes get cheaper prices for older games if you go for the boxed copy. I picked up Lost Planet for $30 in a store, while Steam still has it for $40.

+1 for boxed copy.

I could just got and buy the game and install it rather than waiting a couple of hours for a download.

BOX/DVD. Dosen't drain your monthly usage. The only downside these days...is that box copy manuals are really pathetic..its usually 1 very small card...or no manual at all...man i remember the last wing commander i got for PC...had a thick ass manual lol

Not yet. For example, what if Steam goes offline oneday? Valve is gonna have to sell the farm one day to pay for all the chocolate eclairs Gabe charged to the company American Express card...

Good thing for the most part all the steam games can be played offline and I bet that if steam were to close they would make it possible to play your games still. Remember what happened to Prey with the failure of their DD System? They offered everyone a retail copy or a way to remove the need for their app.

If I live in Antarctica or the game that I'm looking for is no available in stores, then I'd consider digital download. Otherwise boxed copy for me. If I choose to download new release games from Steam, I would have to pay US price tag which is $15-20 more expensive then buying local, and plus it took aweful long time to download.

I voted to download, but..

I want downloads early, and cheap, and without overbearing DRM. Otherwise there really is no point to download compared to boxed.

I buy digital IF and only IF it is cheaper, usually at US prices. I save a bundle due to the serious markup on software we have here.

Luckily this time I remembered to backup my EA Link AND Steam cache. :)
