Wasn't sure whether this would go into general hardware or into this forum so it put it in here on the basis that more people view this forum ;)

Anyway, would it be possible to run 2 22" monitors at 1680 x 1050 res on each on a single 8800 gts? Was not sure since it says maximum displayed res on dual dvi output would be 2560 x 1600 or something similar and 2 22" would be more than that... unless its different for 2 monitors, which i guess is what i'm asking.

[Edit] ah.. and my sigs still wrong

I had one at 1680x1050 and one at 1280x1024 so I can't see why not. Sold the second one when I went SLI.

You got two dual-link DVI outputs on a 8800 GTS.

Do I need to say more? ;)

I think what he's asking is what is the max res. with 2 monitors on one card.

yeah :p wouldn't want to buy a second monitor and then have it not work to the full capacity

I suppose I have to be more specific then.

A single dual-link DVI connector can support a monitor with a resolution of 2560x1600. A 8800GTS has two of those connectors, and therefore, allows you to use two monitors with 2560x1600 resolution.

Total does not really matter because the limitations apply for each of the dual-link connectors and the bandwidth those have.

You can setup your monitors side by side, one on top of the other, pivoted or not pivoted. There is more than one total resolution available, so it is better not to talk of such things. :p
