Don't ask how I know but it does. They must of enabled multi-core but gameplay is WAY smoother..

Yeah, heard so too. The game won't be out till 16 in HK but the pirated ones are already... sad.
I think the game only uses the additional threads when the game calls it.
Plus, the game is hugely GPU bound anyways so I doubt a CPU will impact it much anyways.
Thats a lie. And the multi core has not been improved. It still runs like crap.

It doesn't show in fps but during intense action performance doesn't tank. you don't have to believe me if you don't want but it does play better for me.

Well thats certainly not what they said...
LegionHardware made some references to this lately but I remember seeing a video where he said these things...
"Over the past few months there have been countless interviews with the people from Crytek about Crysis and 'Cervat Yerli' has made a few claims that we wanted to look into. First of all he claimed that upgrading to a quad-core processor would be essential and this had quite a few gamers madly chasing after Q6600 processors. From what we have seen based purely on this single-player game, is that quad-core processors will make little to no difference at all.
Cervat Yerli also claimed that Crysis is a very CPU bound game rather than GPU bound. This is interesting since we found the complete opposite, Crysis is very much GPU bound and any Core 2 Duo processor and probably even any Athlon64 X2 processor for that matter will handle Crysis very well. So at this stage we do not believe quad-core processors are a necessity and we also do not believe you will need to upgrade to the latest and greatest Core 2 processor."

I have a friend that works at a store and is manager so I almost always get my games a day or 2 early sometimes sooner depending on the shipment. But anyways it does run better than the demo.
For this reason i think...
In dx10 i have everything to very high exept shadows and shaders to high and in the demo it had motion blur really noticeable at those settings. In the full version. I dont get that blur effect with zoom or motion blur from moving mouse unless i put the shaders on very high. Duno if its a bug or how it was meant to be to begin with but thats why its running smoother for me i think.
BTW im running it at 720p if anyone wanted to know.
conroejoe....two whole negative posts and not a bad word about Vista??..What's up? you gone soft??

lol
regarding the other posts... maybe DX10 performance has been improved. I've been playing it in XP so on that I cannot speak. XP performs the same as the demo.
By tweaking the demo I was very happy with the visuals vs. performance @ DX10\64 1920x1200 2xAA, all "high", shaders "medium"....I have no problem playing the game at those settings. I'll take it as a nice bonus is the retail is better optimized and I can get those shaders to "high" :D
Anyway...we'll all know in a matter of 1 day ....
I'll be more happy with proper SLI support in DX10 than multi-core support to be honest.

The shop keeper in Hong Kong said it was available for sale today

The retail does seem faster on my rig. I also found High Shader has Motion Blur and DoF, where as in the demo only Very High had it. I'm finding 32bit DX10 with everything at High is best. Very High is playable, but not a smooth as I like my action games to be. I might put my Textures up to Very high along with Physics and sound as my CPU and memory should be able to handle it.
I'm having a lot more fun now than I did with the demo.

Retail benchmarks exactly the same down to the tenth of a FPS on my system.

What are you talking about ? with all settings at high (including shaders) , MB & DoF work in the demo.
Retail doesn't play any better than the demo. Was at a place last night watching 3 people play it and the benchmarks on an 8800GTX and 2 different 8800GTSs were with in 1fps on the retail vs the demo when using the identical settings on the machines I was looking at.

So Cevat has only told us lies during the years then he so recommends quad over a regular core 2 duo but there is no huge improvement. fkers..

What's that you say? I can't hear you while rendering an ambient occlusion pass, compressing HD video, running a virus scan, and replying to your thread, all at the same time.
:p ;)
I'm also in the retail dosn't play any better then the demo bin.
Also im having no crash bugs in vista 32bit.

True. Why do you think there is an ad on the SP demo about the Extreme Intel CPU?
