Using the new drivers = choppy.
Dropped shadows only to medium and its running great.
Nvidia did something wrong.

Did you uninstall the old drivers first?

How do I get SLI working in Vista 32-Bit even though it is enabled in the control panel.

I've noticed something wonky with Crysis and these drivers. When I first started the game I had no VSync, so I tried what worked with BioShock (when it was first released) and pressed ALT-TAB to go out and back into game to enable it. That didn't work, so I hit ALT-ENTER. The game was now in a Window. I hit ALT-ENTER again to go to full screen. VSync was now enabled (Yeah!), but now the game was choppy (Boo!). That was with everything on very high. I exited the game started it up again. The game started in a Window even though I exited the game at full screen. I hit ALT-ENTER to bring the game back to full screen, but I also noticed something odd. If I hit ALT-ENTER again it kept the game in full screen. I exited the game after that (hitting ALT+ENTER twice from windowed mode) and started the game again. The game started in full screen AND vsync was enabled AND the choppyness went completly away. This is with all very high settings. Sorry for the long post. I hope this helps others.
Edit: To sum it up, with Vsync you have to hit ALT+ENTER twice from windowed mode and then exit the game. Start the game up again and everything should be fine.

I noticed that, but only if I launch the game from the general "GAMES" Vsyinc is disabled for me, even if forced in forceware control panel. If I go to the game dir, and execute the proper CRYSIS.EXE (mine is the 64 bit), then Vsync gets enabled... Maybe the driver won't detect correctly the exe if launched from the "GAMES" shortcut?
Bad news for people who play Civ4, this driver will cause lockup in this game, which will force you to restart your system, stick to 169.04 if you are always play Civ4.
some suggestions for those having mouse lag, if using dx9 mode did you install the november 2007 dx9 redist? and what mouse drivers do you use? if using an MS mouse (amd maybe even if not, as it replaces some windows components i think) did you try installing the latest (6.1 I think) intelipoint for vista drivers?
Rather stupidly you can only get the vista specific version if you state you have a gaming product, and then the intelimouse explorer v3, though the driver is still a generic one for all their mice, just as it was in XP.
if you go via any other route on their website it doesn't offer vista as an OS choice, and only offers up the 5.x XP drivers.

I'm not getting mouse lag with DX10, but I get some stuttering sound. With DX9 I'm getting around 20 fps average at 1920x1200, no stuttering, no mouselag.

I don't suggest you enable SLI for Crysis under Vista cause it's ****ing terrible. It runs so slugish, it's unplayable. If you stick with single you're good to go. Vista really sucks for SLI...

Yes I second that. That was nice to find out after I spent $500 for a second card for sli :thumbdwn:

I've got 2x Gts640mb in SLI and with Crysis in Vista it's crap. BTW in all Vista it's crap.
Ergo Vista is crap for gaming ATM.
In XP for most games SLI is excellent and the performance is great.
In Vista crap. FWIW I have Ultimate 32 bit which is everything but ultimate!!!
Luckily I dual boot XP 32 Pro so at least I can game well.
Vista really sucks AFAIK it always will for games. DX10 just crap implementation to sell a new and bloated OS like Vista.
Just my 2c's worth.

Is it worth it to dual boot or wait for the magical set of drivers that will make it all better?
169.09 did nothing for my sli in crysis. it runs better with a single 8800gtx but yet some say it is fine?
