I have read lots of reviews and also on this forum lots of threads but which one would you pick Kaspersky or NOD32 Antivirus programs. I want to get one of them but unsure really which is better in the long run.

If you are looking for an all-in-one package Kaspersky is the the way to go. Their internet security suite is simply great all around. If you want just the AV you really can't go wrong with either tbh.

Have you looked into bitdefender? I've never had a problem with it. Don't know about the others but it even has a "GAME" Mode you can set when playing a game to get those resources back :)

Kaspersky detects in the wild variants better, and is probably the best AV product on the market. NOD32 isn't a slouch either, but you may as well go with the best.

I prefer NOD32, hardly uses any system resources and never gets in the way :D

You can get kaspersky at staples right now for $15 after rebates, the deal ends tomorrow though.

Have the cashier ring up the easy tech PC tune up with kaspersky, and then have them enter in coupon code 88500 which makes the PC tune up free. You don't have to actually bring in your computer to get that.

If the cashier complains about the register asking for some kind of document for that sku (which normally gets filled out by the technician,) just tell them to stick a blank piece of paper in there and it will finish the transaction without the need to fill out the form.

Doing this allows you to get the $50 rebate instead of the $25 rebate that comes in the box. With the $25 rebate then it is a total of $35. I've done it before when kaspersky was $10 after the rebates, so I ended up getting paid $15 to buy kaspersky.

hmm... it'l be almost a year next week since I have been waiting for my mail in rebates for some things I bought from a certain electronics store... never doing mail in rebates again.

Never got the $60 rebate for my monitor from newegg as well :wtf:

just another way for these companies to mislead you into throwing away your money.

NOD32 smallest of smallest footprints, and still is one of the best AV products out there, switched to them, never ever looked back. :)

I'm still an AVG-Free fan myself, though I never really get any viruses and I disable all of the AVG processes. I just use it to scan questionable files on my system.

If Evilghost was still around, he would expose the weakness of NOD32 to you folks. I was a believer in the product as well, until he SHOWED ME THE LIGHT.

Seriously, dig up some of his AV related posts and he has a load of proof. NOD32 fails miserably at detecting in the wild variants.

I've sent numerous updates, the only two I never received was one from circuit city, and another one from fry's electronics. That is two out of maybe 30 rebates I've sent in my lifetime.

Staples rebates are usually the best though. They call them easyrebates, and they are just that. You go online and fill out your address and the receipt number, takes about two minutes, no need to mail anything in. Rebate check comes in 3 weeks, which is very quick compared to most rebates.

CC has something similar where you can track your rebates online, doesn't change anything. I still am missing about $200 in rebates from that store.

I have Bitdefender for now
Some times it locks my taskbar while restarting (i never had any such problem with Norton)
and also when i uninstall programs my computer sometimes freezes with it and i have to disable it first (??)

It is pretty effective as a security solution but it feels like amateur work as a program

I think i will uninstall it and go for Karpensky

Well in the end I went for Kaspersky and it does seem to take up no real resources much better than avast was.
