Those of you who got the fullversion, can you please confirm if these are fixed:
1. The AF issue. When enabling Parallax Occlusion Mapping (POM) it causes the AF to go to hell and textures gets very blurry a few meters away.

2. The Shadow issue. When setting the shadows option to Very high the shadows will look even worse than on medium

One more thing; I wonder if the 8800 series issue of getting a white area around bushes/trees when forcing AF in control panel is fixed in the fullversion.
Thats all... Cheers :D

I can answer the first one, the AF issue is still there when using POM. :( I decided to turn POM off, if I want bad AF I'll play my PS3 games.
Can't say I ever notice the shadow thing.
1) AF is working now if you use the new 169.09 drivers. so yes fixed.
2) No idea  (aren't they suppose to look softer in v.high? .. i think this is ordinary)
3) White trees issue fixed with the 169.09 aswell.

This is incorrect. Least DX9 winXP AF issue is not fixed with POM. Perhaps Vista work properly? Haven't checked

That the shadows get more washed out then when having shadows settings at medium couldn't be something thats suppose to be. It must be something wrong. For when having the shadows on High they are crispier than medium, then why wouldn't Very high be as crispy or crispier than high? They couldn't make the shadows as realistic as real life, where shadows are very sharp and crispy at close distance and the more further away the object witch is casting the shadow is the more washed out and less detailed it gets. Or am i wrong?
About POM and AF issue, Maybe its like this SH64 guys say... maybe with the latest beta drivers the blurriness of the closerange textures when using POM is fixed for those on Vista, but not XP. Hope someone else can confirm this for me. If its not fixed then am sad, for i like both AF and POM, wouldn't want to have to choose between one of them :(
If so, i really hope Crytek and/or Nvidia fix this ASAP!

yea it seems like AF is not working with POM on and im using the 169.09 drivers in XP
EDIT: but i think its only for the ground textures that are affected by POM... the rest should be ok... can anyone confirm this?
ill do a comparison tomorrow

I believe all POM changes are the ground textures and hence the AF.

I was wondering what was causing the blur from a short distance. I was messing with the view distance settings in the configs because I thought maybe that was the cause.
I hope they fix this soon in XP because I really love the POM effect. :(
I'd boot into my Vista partition to play if the performance was there. :thumbdwn:

No it doesn't, POM affects many textures but not all. One example is the long bridge on the Shore MP map, if you force AF then u can see it works 100% on there. But for the rest of the textures... nothing

No it has nothing to do with draw or view distance unfortunatley... This is something with the POM technic that they need to fix.
that strange..I would actually be thinking its a bug in the high setting. The blurrier shadow looks more natural then the sharper one, especially when you look at the trees next to your character's shadow. The med and very high shadow looks exact..unless the med one is lower resolution and I just can't tell from that pictures resolution.

Well there is a small difference if you look carefully. The Very high shadows are more washed out than the medium ones. So basically they made the medium shadows more realistic than the high settings shadows, i dont think its suppose to be like that right?
