Holy crap...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_8_Series#Technical_summary_2

The 8xxxM series have pretty weak specs compared to the desktop versions, but this thing is a MONSTER. It has 3 times the stream processors and twice the bandwidth of the 8700M GT, and thats one of the fastest mobile GPUs you can get...

This thing has to destroy battery life...

I don't know much about laptops and batteries but compared to those other chips, that isn't too bad. It uses 1/5th more power than the 8700M GT but the specs completely destroy it.

Any news on what laptops will have this? I couldnt find any other than Alienware (too expensive) on Nvidia's site.

My friend wants a laptop, and it will be the only thing he will have for gaming... this looks like the ticket!

I expect Dell XPS to adopt it soon.

EDIT : wait the memory interface is 256-bit not 384 :|

Last week Alienware goofed and released it with a SLI configuration on thier site. The link has been taken down since. But I woudl imagine all teh majors will get thier hands on them.
Also teh m1730 from dell will be getting these as well.

Yea, it kind of sounds like it's a 65nm part that is based off the 8800GT. I bet the 8800M GTX compares very well to an 8800GTS desktop card.

Fury is the new iD game. It looks to be another FPS (no surprise there) with some kind of racing elements. Don't know about the other two.

Dude! I can't wait to see this card in action... but it probably gives off a butt load of heat.

AMD/ATI doesn't even have product to compete Nvidia in this segment. Too bad ATI was sold to AMD, at least they had some mobile solution.

Damn. Thats pretty impressive. More than 3x the performance of the 8600M.

I wonder what the cheapest 8800M GTX system will be. :o

Its too bad no one has made a design standard for laptops so that we could just start building and upgrading the damned things...

A laptop that plays Crysis decently at high is an awesome laptop. i might get one if the price is within my budget range.
