View Full Version : Is it okay to run fan @ 100% ALL THE TIME?, on 8800 Ultra?
Hi, I was wondering if I could set RIVA to set FAN speed @ 100% at all times?
Is it safe? even if on MAX load?
Or should I keep it auto?
Thanks

Sure it's safe, and sure you can, but it will be pretty loud.

not it is not safe at all, you can rupture your ear drums and your house will burn down.
Before you know it all of your money will be gone and your daughter will be knocked up.
Its perfectly safe, just dont put your finger in :D
if ur really worried about temps you might want to consider an aftermarket cooler
Perfectly safe, but keep in mind that it will reduce the life span of the fan and produce a fair amount of noise compared to lower speed levels.

Also, remember that you'll have to clean your fan and heatsink more due to dust build up.
It will not reduce the fan's life by any descernable mount of time. My 8800gtx actually dosnt produce that much noise at %100.. but yea you hear it, but I do it because its one of the problems with having top of the line crap that produces alot of heat.
