hes at idle :p And yes it WILL breach 40C I had a E6600 with my eliminator back when I actually used it. Once I went quad I had to stop and get a 120 ultra. Low was in the 50's but it was silent. My clock was at 3.4 Medium was in the upper 40's but keep in mind this was without a case side panle so no warm case air actually passed threw the heat exchanger!

If it can keep a Q6600 @ 3.6GHz in the 30s while "idle", it should keep my Opty within the 30s underload at 3GHz. I see no reason why it couldn't. That is my point.

Are they quiet?

These are really an option for me due to the huge price on both models in AU. For the same price I could get a waterkit that would cool everthing in my case. Silently if i went with a Reserator.

Hes at 3.2 not 3.6 I suggest you look at that screen shot some more :)

The reason the Eliminator isn't recommended for quads is because of its limited heat dissipation. When there isn't a thermal load it can dissipate the heat and cool the water threw its 3 techs much easier then at load. Over time under load the heat exchanger gets to hot to cool the tecs and your temps start to rise. But hey no need to listen to me its not like I have one siting on my desk or anything! :p

OH SNAP I DO!!!! ;)

hehe :D

as for your question they are silent on low fan speeds on medium they would be decent but mine had fluctuations where it would spin up and then down again and it was very annoying, on high no there not tolerable. :(

120 Ultra FTW! Right now on a hot, humid tropical Aussie morning, my quad is idling at 32C. :)

oh that old thing its just a Abit QuadGT P965 mother board. Nothing special or any thing :D Actually it was sold to a member here and its been over 2 weeks and still no money order :( After the first couple of days he PM'ed me and said he had yet to mail it and it would be out on Monday 2 weeks ago. If he falls threw as a buyer then its going back in my PC and a 680i A1 will be in its place up top :p

*Maybe even for sale who knows

verboten,

I am wondering why you droped the multi and reduced the ram just to link it? While you gained a bit of write speed you killed your read and hurt the copy and really have piss poor latency. Not sure if its all a result of the sync or not but maybe you could try to reduce the FSB raise the multi and up that ram a bit :)

Didn't someone suggest a wall mounted mobo for MAXIMUM COOLING? That's what it reminded me of. :D

I always wonder if the Intel Speedstep is enabled on some of the systems. Makes a huge difference at idle. The Coolit Freezone I had was decent, but could not keep up with the quad core, long term. There have been mixed reviews to a point where I wonder if there is a build quality issue.

Redeemed just have them put in a two fan BI GTX rad and this would work for you: http://www.dangerden.com/store/product.php?productid=183&cat=65&page=1

That screeny of his is a bit misleading...

Regardless, if it can cool a Q6600 at 3.2GHz, then imagine what it could do for my Opty. I doubt an Ultra 120 would cool it nearly as well.

Hmm... and that is *literally* everything I'd need? How about ease of installation? Would I have to drill any holes in my case, or could this fit in a mid-ATX case? The Eliminator would, though I'td be a bit tight. If this will all fit inside, neatly, then it is a good probability I'd get it.
