has been removed from the fiscal year calendar entirely. It's now slated for an ambiguous release sometime in the next fiscal year, which begins April 1, 2008.

The 360 version isn't bugged if you can play that one. The PC version is manageable if you can find a good price. I played through it, actually liked it a lot (on pc too).

I guess I could sell it for cheap :)

http://www.ubisoftgroup.com/gallery_files/site/270/1042/1624.pdfThey did the exact same thing with Double Agent. It eventually came out 6 months later. So I'd expect Conviction in the Fall of '08.

Well double agent was pretty ok but it was infested with numerous bugs. Really too many to be released.

that not 6 monthI recall that Double Agent was originally planned for release in March 2006, but got pushed to November 2006. I know I didn't dream it. You don't recall that?

The way they changed Sam Fisher's character, I really don't care much.

I got a feeling the engine will be similar to Assassins Creed with the whole various crowd reactions thing.

to be honest, I'm happy they delayed the game. first of all there are too many games in this period of time to spend the money for, besides Double Agent was/is horrible, buggy like hell. I was a big fan of the series, but after DA I'm no longer even gonna play Convicion. More that that, Ubisoft decided to change the gameplay it will no longer be a good stealth game. i wish they got back to the idea of first Splinter Cell, that game was phenomenal.

God I hope the PC version will be better than Double Agent! What a fiasco...
Dont worry the PC version of SC:Conviction will rock! you will just need to add "-ll" to the shortcut & BAM!! DX10.1 + RT displacememnt mapping + soft particles + day/night cycle + advanced A.I. & quad-core support! :p

Totally sounds like a perfect PC Version from UBI... wait! That's not possible! ;)

It's Ubisoft Montréal... Of course it's possible. It's those dip****s in Shanghai that can't seem to get things right. "If we change everything, maybe it gets better!". Ugh

Montreal makes better games then Shanghai.

Who makes Convictions? Still not sure if it matters, really don't like the idea of new Splinter Cell, but the look of it, it doesn't even look like Splinter Cell.

Maybe the problem not is only Shangai or Montreal ,

Eidos Montreal's general manager, former Ubisoft exec Stéphane D’Astous

"Some developers are really trying to push titles out the door within 12-15 months; we're working on plans for our first few titles that will only be released after 24 months."
