View Full Version : No increase in FPS when lowering res?
In Crysis I tried many of the resolutions and I noticed my FPS improves maybe 10 going from 1920x1200 to 800x600.
That can't be right, whats wrong?!
My specs:
Q6600 G0
EVGA 680i SLI A1
2x2gb Mushkin eXtreme PC6400
2x EVGA 8800GTX SLI
Vista Ultimate 64
Forceware 169.09

Turn down shaders for MAXIMUM FPS.
Gotta love those shaders. It makes everything look fantastic in Crysis, but its a frame rate hog.

What clock is your CPU at? I've never heard of a Q6000.
From the benches I have seen Crysis only sees a 15% boost with quad over dual core, so if you have a low clock on your CPU, and considering you have SLI 8800's, I suppose its possible you are hitting a CPU bottleneck, but I am doubtful as I have not tested with low resolutions my self.

Most likely Q6600 (2.4Ghz stock) , hence the "G0".
Sorry it is a Q6600, typo.
It's either my CPU or drivers. I'll try some overclocking and perhaps rolling back to some earlier drivers.
