It truly isn't that good at all imo. Yeah the first couple of maps look stunning but the gameplay is tedious and multiplayer is diabolical.
Once the novelty has worn off with the graphics, the game gets boring and gives no reason to play on to the end. I thought the AI in Crysis was supposed to be groundbreaking, pfft that is a joke.
Crysis is nothing more than a playable benchmark. :thumbdwn:

WTF - Bioshock was much more overrated and hyped than Crysis and offered much less. It was a good game, but IMO it takes number 2 on the most over-hyped games list of all time. After Halo of course...
The gameplay is pretty fun and the MP is not boring either.
It's all about preference - you don't like it fine...

Crysis is def a good game to play until the end, it's just Crytek has taken out a few features that were supposed to be in the game because our current hardware cannot play them at playable framerates. Let the hardware catch up and Crytek add those features back, then play it through.

I really enjoyed all the time I've spent on Single-player. It's been a very engaging experience from beginning to end. I've had to start pulling a lot of new tactics to get past the AI or defeat them. THERE ARE TONS OF THOSE LITTLE GUYS!
So yea, quit complaining about this game. It's a great game... it really is. It doesn't appeal to everyone, but then again, what does? ;)

Single player Crysis is definitely the best FPS game I have ever played.
I don't like the multiplayer portion of it.

It should NOT get GOTY for the performance issues and bugs. I had to reinstall to finish it, thats how bad the bugs got for me...
COD4 would be a better choice. There are so many candidates right now that the hype around Crysis made it hype. Had this game been released in October before all these other contenders then it would've been received much better. I enjoyed playing Crysis, but I LOVE playing COD4! And the whole part inside the alien ship with the low poly aliens was one of the worst gaming experiences for me. It was just retarded.

Because people sometimes don't like their brains and prefer intuitive and shallow games that can fit into their short attention span.
I liked the graphics, I liked the sound, I like the soundtrack, I liked the story, I liked the tactical gameplay, I liked the physics and feel of the game, I liked the nanosuit and weaponmod features, I'm impressed by the AI and I'm cool with cliffhangers. If you expected this game to make you feel like high on drugs and jesus coming out of the screen and hugging you, I can understand if you're disappointed. If you expected a decent FPS however I cannot understand, but I respect that our subjective perceptions are different. I've played A LOT of shooters in my while life and Crysis is definently one of the best. Once you understand that you're NOT supposed to be able to play the game on very high settings, those are reserved for nextgen, you can still play a gorgeous and immersive game at a decent framrate @ high settings and accept that and once you just let go of the critical and petty analysis and just let go, lean back, relax and enjoy the game, it's a blast imo. If you're not afraid to dive into the 20's, the DX9 with tweaks looks like something from the future. And again I can't account for other people's personal experience with the game, but I absolutely loved the gameplay as well. It seems like some just WANTS to hate the game and declare it hyped. I loved every aspect of the game, though I could have wished for some higher performance and SPOILER MARK TEXT TO VIEW** going back to the island with the TAC launcher after the hangar level(the TAC from MP that is, not the feeble one from the end of SP) and pwning some big enemies with it, just a few added levels to the end and perhaps ending it all with a giant nuke putting the physics into real play **. In short the SP was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had and I enjoy the MP very much as well (power struggle that is, TDM is meh).
On a sitenote I find COD4 annoyingly scripted, linear, a game "on rails" with the gameplay we've seen 1000 times before without any of the cool additions like weapon mod, nanosuit and huge environments like Crysis, but some people prefer it over Crysis for whatever reason (performance being one of them I guess), and that's cool with me; I don't feel an urge to make a thread "WHAT'S UP WITH TEH OVERHYPED COD4!!??" because of that...

Well, I did not make it clear enough...
By over-hyped I mean that it completely does not live up to its hype, just IMO.
I mean Halo 3 probably is good and Bioshock is good, but all the hype have been getting... :rolleyes:
Crysis had a lot of hype around it too, IMO however I think it lived up to its hype more than those 2 games by a looooooooooooooooooo...ooooooooooong way. So saying that Crysis was hyped is acceptable, but calling it over-hyped is kind of strange after you look at those 2 games. But you did not, so that's ok.:captnkill:

Meh. I heard all the hype surounding this thread. So I just had to come in. and that's all i can say. Meh. This is one of the most over hyped hype threads ever. I mean it's a good thread, but way over hyped.

I got the game today and I played it for more than 4h (on Delta) and just started with the "Relic" level. The game is amazing so far, definitely a 10/10. Many thanks to fellow Nvnews member JackRabbit710 who sent me the English CE at no extra charge (other than the game costs of course)! Thanks James! :beer:

Another bitch thread.... Cyrsis is a blast. I plan on playing this one a couple times over :) And when new hardware comes out I will play it again then too for good measure and even more graphics! :D

From the perspective of Bigman, It was worth the 60 bucks plus.
I beat the game and i enjoyed the moments and screen play and all the special effects.
This is coming from the most powerful badass on the planet.
Stop bitchen and enjoy what ever hype cuz we are PC gamers and the light is shinning on us roght know so enjoy the moment while it lasts.

Hands down this was one of the most fun gaming experiences I ever played on PC. Yes, it easily equaled the hype IMO. 10/10, PC gaming doesn't get much better than this baby!!

Huh? 99% of console gamers have never heard of it, and I'd bet the majority of people who buy PC games haven't either (since the majority of PC games sold are things like Bejeweled, Zuma, Sims and games based on TV game shows - Deal Or No Deal etc).
The only people excited about Crysis are the hardcore PC gamers, but we make up a tiny fraction of all gamers. Its nothing compared to the hype around Halo 3, the kids camping at Walmart, the promos on the radio, the coverage on the TV news... all for a game that was mediocre.
