Not that anyone from here is going to buy one, but....

It's on the market. Lets see what AMD can do this round.

Honestly I hope folks buy them, and some HD 3870s and 3850s too.

I thought about a 9600 myself for my second rig, and the poor overclocking scared me away. I've got an E6320 @ 3.45GHz in that rig now. Still best O' luck AMD.

Some poeple have high overclocks but you do need very good cooling however. I saw the Phenom 9500 for 155 which is a good price. I have been thinking about it but then i would have to buy a new motherboard, on the plus side the motherboards are alot cooler, this nForce 680i gets are far too hot for my liking, limiting my overclocking also as the PWM phase gets hot as i pump up the voltage :(

That is a good price and I have a 175usd E6320 @ 3.45GHz in my second rig. What I will likely do is grab a Penryn for my main rig and move this Q6600 G-0 to #2.

I haven't given up on AMD and am watching to see how later revs do.

Phenom is still very promising. I'll wait for a new revision of the CPU and optimized motherboards and bioses. We will see lower idle power usage and more memory throughput soon. It runs already at 2,7 - 3,0 GHz. I'm waiting for Linux 64bit and OSS benchmarks.
And I'm waiting for AMD punishing nVIDIA for lousy linux drivers for the GF8xxx cards. Either nVIDIA delivers linux performance that equals the windows drivers or they can keep their trash and go home. :p

"If" i do jump ship then it won't be till the new B3 revision comes out. The ASUS M3A deluxe WiFi seems like an impressive motherboard as for thoughput it is very high however it is multithreaded so single threaded memory applications won't see any improvement. I say "if" as if i have to change my board again for an Intel CPU again then i'll do it for AMD as they tend to be compatible for longer rather then every revision needs a new board.

Go AMD go! :) Competition = good. I still plan on keeping my Q6600 for some time as my next upgrade will be whatever video card comes out that beats the GTX/Ultra... but whoever is king when my CPU becomes the limit will get by business again :) I was AMD loyal sense the Athlon XP line... then Intel won me back with the C2D and C2Q. Who will win the next time?! :)

I wouldn't mind going for one of these but with the Q9450 out soon I can simply drop in in my motherboard and I am good to go.
