When can we expect to see new drivers for the 8800 series cards for Crysis??

I would expect a gain of AT LEAST 5fps, which would be decent for most people.

There's definitely ALLOT of room for improvement.

I wouldn't count on it happening.

There will be some small gains as nVidia suss out some optimisations here and there and implement them in press release-pleasing ways, but it's not in their interest to code massive speed boosts into their drivers. As it is, Crysis is the one title capable of killing the 8800GTX, which means it's also the only title for which their next line of high-end cards will be must-haves.

If ATI figure something out that gives their cards more fps than nVidia's, expect a speed boost, though.

Crysis team promised this or next week some patch which will boost crysis performance, but mostly under SLI mode.

The patch from crytek is what I'm looking out for. Remember how much the initial patches boosted performance for FarCry?

I can't remember anything like this. Please do tell. I hope when they release a patch it's not the 10-20% at high res (thats liek 2 or 3 fps) :p. I hope for like 10 fps etc but unlikely!!! :D

new drivers ???
YOU WONT GAIN 30000% fps with any newdrivers. In fact you will gain max 5-10% fps after one year.

Funny that no one remembers that.

I never got a fps boost from the patches either, mostly remember problems with rendering textures correctly for nvidia gpus.

sm 3.0 patch, 64-bit patch, ati received most of the driver speed boosts, but its still a boost.
