I've been playing Crysis in Vista 64bit, DX9 (tweaked) and have come accross some strange problems. First or all, running Fraps makes the game jerky as hell. I've only just noticed this, but as soon is I turn it off the game goes very smooth, but that's not the real problem....

The problem is, i'm on the part, early on in the game, where you have to blow up the tanks. I've done this, no probs, but whan the tanks are destroyed it's supposed to move on to the next point of the mission. Instead, I get some strange blocks appearing (see pics) and the game doesn't move on. Psycho just stays in that room with the woman he's supposed to be extracting.

Another odd thing is when I shot at the second tank it slowly raised in to the air, about 100ft up, spinning around slowly. But before I got chance to take a screenshot of it, it killed me :o

Anyway, here are the shots. Notice all the enemys have been killed (look at the map) but Psycho is still in the room with the woman.

When I first saw this car with a block in the middle of it I thought it would be a good idea to shoot it. When I did the car started shaking like crazy and making a awful noise. After about 30 seconds the car jumped out of the block and landed next to it (see second pic) and the noise stopped.

Has anyone else had a problem like this??

I've been playing the game in XP too and have got much further without problems, so i'm just gonna copy the game save over to Vista.

This happened to me too in xp32. I shot a tank with the rocket launcher and it went up in the air about 50 feet and kept going round and round shooting at me. I shot it again and it turned upside down. I had to shoot it several times to destroy it :)

When I reload the machine guns, I have a full clip, but I can reload one more time and it puts one extra bullet into the chamber :captnkill:

Thats how guns work.

If you put in a 30 round magazine and operate the action so that it loads one into the chamber you have 29 in the magazine and 1 in the chamber.

If you put another 30 round magazine in the gun, you have 31 rounds.

Blah. Anyway when you have to defend the troops after getting out of the shell.. If the squids die in air while attacking, the mission wont end. The AI will keep shooting at them.

Yea I ran into that the first time around and had to restart that level. There are a few triggers that are off in the later levels. There's some talk about Crytek delivering a patch within 2 weeks of the release date. Hope this gets fixed.

I knew I should have waited a bit longer to pick up this game. Im having an issue with the end of the Relic level myself.

Quite a few times in a row I had Prophet sit down just outside of the heat source radius (when he needs to stay close to fires because his suit is malfunctioning). So he's stand roughly 3ft outside of the radius of the fire and just scream for help, asking me to take him to a heat source or he'll die... No amount of moving around or anything made him get close enough, so he just kept freezing... Poor bugger.

I've had a tank spin around on the spot ultra-fast sometimes and just kill me. Usually happens when I try and stick a remote explosive on / near it.

During the mission where you're defending those AA units while that massive walker comes down the valley at you (the part where Strickland cops it), the walker just shot up into the air, spun around a few times, stretched like crazy all over the sky (like a broken ragdoll or something) then flew down halfway through the ground before resetting back to where it should be.

I also once saw an enemy fly through the sky. I think he glitched on something (this game has terrible physics, things often go flying or I get killed simply by touching something).

That reminds me, When I was leading Prophet to the first heat source and the cutscene kicked in, he had 40% left. When the cutscene ended he had 1% and died instantly :headexplode: Loaded my last save, and that didn't happen again.

When you are taking the island back (killing the AA for the aircraft) I went inside those huts with the mounted machine guns in the center of the island. If the roof falls on you (its only a 5 feet off the ground) you die instantly. I got stuck inside it once, and it grazed my guy and he died. This happened 3 times (I tested it).

Vehicle controls in general go to hell if you touch anything physics based. I've had my jeep launch into the air while trying to leave from a parked position while ontop of sheet metal.

Well hopefully the guys at Crytek see this and sort it with an up-coming patch.

The biggest bug I've been getting seems to be linked with Quick Saving while cloaked. After I reload the quick save and use my binoculars the first enemy I look at starts taking damage. The more I move the more damage he takes until his death, which promptly sends the other KPA into a frenzy- which is a hassle in sneaking missions.

Explosive planting seems to be a bit buggy for slow moving vehicles, half the time the explosive doesn't stick, the other half the vehicle "runs me over" when I'm clearly well off to the side.

Still enjoying the game- just got to the artifact entrance.

- taking weapons of the ground normally gives u extra ammo, sometimes it doesn't
- I can play at very high at 102x768, but the longer the play the game (at once, not return to desktop and then run exe gain), the more lag I got, I start without lag and then the lag comes
- chopper in harbor helped me a little, it got stuck in a tower :D
- planes and such fly through mountains

I shot the tank with the pistol in that same spot and it immediately started rolling over and over on its sides :p

Have you tried picking up a frog, looking skywards and right clicking to release it? It floats off in a straight line - I've not tried using a floating frog to kill a Korean yet, but I may well give it a go...

It works.. you can't kill them with a frog but you can sure confuse the hell out of them. I threw a line drive at a korean then cloaked immediately after throwing it and zoomed in with the binoculars. It hit him in the face and then he started looking all around not knowing where it came from.

Then I hit him in the face with a bullet :D

I found you can shoot a tree just until the trunk splinters then, shoot it in half somwhere beneath the spot where it is splintered and the log in the middle will slowly float to the ground. You'll be left with a floating tree top. At that point you can keep breaking the tree in peices but the top will never fall. I'll have to grab an image.

Rofl, had a quick play on Relic last night... I picked up a chicken and started running around with it, but when I tried to throw it away, it got stuck in the air and started acting as if it were walking on an invisible platform. When it tried to run it just ran off into the sky, but I power jumped and got it back. Then I walked into a Korean soldier and threw it against him... They got stuck together and just rolled around in the air trying to shoot me.

I so wish I recorded that.

Yeah i know a bug... it's called phsyics i changed my minigun for a scar and the mingun slid down the hill 'slightly' and killed me :eek:

do a quick youtube search for crysis bugs. some of them are freaking hilarious. And almost all of them deal with problems with the physics/collision system. I've said it a hundred times now. They should have used Havok. There was nothing wrong with it.
