Decided to try the Thermaltake DuoOrb as the Zalman vf900 I had wasnt performing that great (better than stock but still reaching near 70C) under load. I was shocked to say the least, DuOrb lays a smackdown on the vf900!

DuOrb can't handle the G80 GTX @ Load. X1950 Pro, 8800 GTX and 8800 GT tested here.

how about the vf1000?
is it inferior to the duorb?

I would think it would be better as it can handle the 8800 GTX

Thanks I have been shopping for a cooler for mines for a couple of days. My usual vendors don't have one thou, any recommendations for where to buy one and not get shafted?

what about the noise? is it louder than the stock HSF? will this be good for a SLI setup?

It's quiet. DuOrb is rated at 21db, no comparision with noise or cooling abilities. I dont see why it wouldnt work fine for SLi.

how many slots does it take up? Just 1 extra?

Do the ram heat sinks come with it? The pics on new egg don't show them..

783 is a huge OC... did you just bump the speeds, or change voltages on anything?

Indeed, I was surprised. The G92 really isnt a hot chip it just got paired with a inadequate cooler, a shame really as its competition is dual slot (3870). Maybe cost was a issue in Nvidia's decision. I never did reach over 75C with the stock cooler at 100% fan speed but the noise was driveing me crazy.

2 slots.

Yes.

No voltage changes, just bumped the clocks. I couldnt get over 756/1836/2000 stable with the stock cooler.

That 8800GT revision is pretty impressive to be able to handle that.

If you're interested you could push your GT higher. The GT can be vmodded through the bios unlike all the other G80's. I've seen people get over 800mhz core on the bios vmod. So if you wanna push that baby, get nibitor and nvflash and take that GT for a ride :captnkill:,

Id like to see how it compares to the HR-03 GT and Accelero S1 VGA Cooler on an identical closed testbed

http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?p=549520 (scroll down to the pumpkin) this guy is getting very similar temps with the AC on a higher overclock

Is the ramsinks falling off due to bad tape a trick by arctic to get you to buy thermal adhesive, EDIT: no thats a different Arctic

Accelero S1 and some Arctic Alumina for the ramsinks looks like the winner for me.

wow..those are pretty amazing temps..what is the room temp at ?

One more thing..is it possible to fit them in SLI?

Very good temp drops lol..that is pretty..unreal -.-.

I got mine down to 61C playing CRYSIS. Also when I run the fur benchmark for 35 minutes it stayed at 73C. I tell ya it is the fan that sucks on the stock setup. By the way I put a 90mm on top of the exsisting fan and a 60mm over the open fin vents. I can actually feel air exiting out the back; like it is suppose to!

Weeds seriously I bow down to you. That is one fine job you have done putting your pc together. Very Clean, nice install. Thanks for the nice pics and all the info on the coolers. I have two BFG 8800 Gt's and will soon have two Duorbs on top.

Nice temps - but is it really silent, having two fans?
