The Western Digital Raptor drive is the fastest IDE drive out there right now. 10,000 RPM and a seek time of 5.2 ms. Too bad it's only 36 GB.

If you need more speed, pick up any of the WD drives with 8 mb cache.

The current fastest is the WD Raptor 10,000RPM drive. It's only 36GB though. :( The IBM/Hitachi 180GXP's and WD Special Edition 8MB cache drives are fast too.

EDIT: Damn nin_fragile beat me to it. LOL :p
