Are weighted mice really worth it? Who uses the weights that came with their mice?

I like my MX700's weight. So my answer would be a weighted mouse I suppose, even though mine is just naturally heavy.

My Habu doesn't have removable weights, but I freakin love it.

I have a few G5 mice and I like to put 4 weights into the corners of it. The mouse is still very light compared to an MX1000, but it makes a noticeable difference to make the G5 feel comfortable. I think it's a touch light without them in there.

I like the weights used in my Sidewinder.

I still prefer ball mice, and continue to use a standard 2 button/1 wheel mouse so I guess that's a vote for no weights? lol

AHHH!!!!!

I'm dieing to know, what do you prefer about a ball mouse? :o :o :o

Also, I'm not sure which I prefer. Probably a lighter mouse, but I've never taken any weights out of my mice. Over the last 7 years I've only used 3 mice on my main system. A 1st generation Logitech Optical (one of the shiny blue and silver ones; still being used after desoldering and replacing a button), a Logitech MX500 (still use this for other PCs at my desk) and a Logitech MX518 (current mouse, had for 2 years).

They all seem pretty much fine to me. Though I am curious about the weights added to the 518. I might have to try taking them out some time. :p

I don't really see the purpose of using weights for a mouse. You'll eventually get used to a different mouse regardless of how much it weighs.

My mouse can bench 350.

I like my mouse as light as possible. I just can't stand heavy mice at Lans.

I use all the "black" heavy weights in my G5 mouse and I like the feel of it a lot. I guess i prefer a heavy mouse because I have used other mouses and I definitely like the feel of mine much better.

Well duh. :p

But they are so horrible. They move randomly if you lift or bump them, they need cleaned often and they get clunky\choppy if you roll over anything on the mouse pad.

I just can't image a single thing that is better about a ball mouse. :o

Like ryan29121 said, I too use all the 4.5g weights in my G5. I prefer the heavy feel.

I like a medium weight, not enough weight and the mouse just feels cheap

Lol, it's hard to explain why I like them. I guess it's because I can "feel" it more when I move the mouse? Like there's more feedback on how much I'm moving it or somthing. I've tried laser mice and they just feel so slippery, like, I'm not in control or something. Ahhh I can't explain it. My friends even bought me a nice mouse last Christmas but I couldn't get used to it and it's sitting in a closet somewhere lol.
