Does anyone know what's going on with the new hi-end cards. After playing Crysis I really want something faster to play it again. I played it without AA and now I'd like to play it with AA.

Ok.... I'm not trying to flame when I say this, so please don't think that it's you...

Guys, when someone finds something out, they will post it. The estimate is a toss up but it's "rumored" to be released in early 2008, but that's a rumor. We really have no idea though as Nvidia hasn't said anything...

But please please PLEASE quit making threads entitled "When will we get the 9800 GTX?" or stuff related to the next generation of cards. Trust me, this place is good enough that as soon as something becomes official, it will show up on these boards. ;)

Also, the 8900 is rumored to be a 65nm 8800 GTX. I doubt we'll see much of a performance increase from just a die shrink.

I think the problem I'm having is to decide whether or not to get an 8800 gt. Anandtech said that the GTS is confirmed for december 3rd in their christmas buyers guide, but ive seen nothing else that even vaguely says its confirmed.

The GTS has been confirmed. All you've got to do is wait for it. If you don't want to wait for it, the 8800 GT is an excellent card to buy.

I would bet you won't have any trouble getting most of your money back when you seel the GT to upgrade to the newest release. I'd go for it now if my cash weren't tied up/vacuumed up by the family.

Just crank down to 1280x1024, switch graphics to all High and set AA=2.
Overclock the GTS a bit and voila! Nice fps between 26-30 ;)

What makes you think 8900s aren't already out for a few of us? ;)

I'm dead serious when I say I'm not trying to flame you. I understand that you want to know when the next series of cards is coming, but the problem is that we have people posting these questions every other day, and we honestly have no clue when the card is "officially" going to be released. All we know is that it's in the works.

I promise I have nothing against you man. I just needed to get that off my chest. ;)

No sweat :) I just meant public forums are that way because people are constantly inquiring about what's going on. I guess I'm more open to it. I mentioned the 3Dfx forums because we constantly did that type of stuff.

Get a quad cpu first, that will benefit you much more in the long run
