Driver Problems

I have an NVIDIA Geforce3 TI500, Audigy Sound Card, Intel D845BG motherboard, 2.00 Ghz P4 processor, and 512 MB ddr ram on Slackware 9.0 with kernel 2.4.20. I successfully ran the new installer for the linux drivers (1.0-4349) and edited my xconfig file. When I try to start X, the screen goes black and the system freezes. Any help would be appreciated :
