Here's a nice pic of the card itself:

Hopefully they'll run some benchmarks against some GTXs.

looks like a brick... hopefully this thing will be a beast:captnkill:

Meh... this isn't that interesting.

We already have an extremely fast 512Mb card for well under $300. We don't need a slightly faster one for $400.

Just give us a much faster card with at least a gig of memroy for $500-$600 and we'll be happy...

Here's the benches: http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/1234/

With all that said though, what are our thoughts on the 8800GTS 512MB? Well, quite frankly we love it. It’s a good step up from the 8800GT if you’re venturing into 1920 x 1200 territory, and the card also manages to do better with less noise and heat which is always great.

I cant understand why they didn't do that either???

No benchies on Crysis huh?

Not a lot of gain over the 8800GT, glad I went with the $207 deal at Dell.

wtf, no benchies against gtx, useless.

nvidia probably won't give them the card if they do.

Nice, but I think i'll be sticking with my GT for now.

You'd better off getting a factory overclocked 8800GT, will save you at least $50 and should be almost as fast, if not faster than this..

Nice, but I think i'll be sticking with my GT for now.

Looks like the gains are really felt for higher resolution and in DX10... everything else was fairly similar to a GT, and probably almost the same as a GTX.

If they released a 1GB version of this card, I would consider it, but I'll probably stick with my GT until the 9800GT or whatever they call it.

I wish when they would bench the old 8800GTS they would use the 640mb version ,and one that is clocked higher then 500/1188/1600,because maybe in 3DMark benchmarks it may not make much of a difference ,but in newer games it makes a big difference .

I bet the 8900GTX is ready but Nvidia are waiting on Ati. Still keeping the GTX.

I'd love to see how it performs with a G80 based 8800 GTS, but since the GT mops the floor with it and this card is 10% faster, I'd say its safe to assume this card is worth the trade up from a G80 640MB GTS.

Especially if the trade up is free. :P

Lucky dude!

I just do not see how the 8800GT mops the floor with a 8800GTS 640mb,sure it is a little faster in some games ,but mop the floor.I would still like to see some reviews of the 8800GT at 700/1728/2000 against at 8800GTS 640mb
648/1512/1900 because all the reviews I have seen either have a 320mb version or a 640 mb version clock at 500/1188/1600.

Why wow? faster core and shader clock and 128SP, of course it beats a 8800GTX, without AA. :p

By those benchmarks I don't see this as being much of a step up from the GT, but it seems to sit neatly between the GTX and Ultra, as the GT does the GTS640 and GTX. Probably not worth the step-up which I still have 2 months or so on with my evga 8800GT SC, but I'm not overly hopeful on the next gen of cards being released soon either :\ Still, at 350-400$ it's a steal compared to the gtx/ult

Bare in mind the GTX and Ultra used are factory overclocked, the idiot reviewer is comparing a stock GTS to an overclocked GTX and Ultra. :thumbdwn:

This type of thing has become really common as of late. (also TweekTown is run by kids with sub 80 IQs, I would say lower but some how they manage to type that prattle into web pages) Also allot of reviews seem to like to compare the street price of one card to the MRSP of another to show it is cheaper.

I get the feeling these people think they are smart when they are just advertising on the net how stupid they are.

2. A large amount of modern Nvidia cards are sold at non-reference clock speeds, so a factory overclocked cards are a valid comparison.
3. He did not try to hide what cards he was using to represent the GTX and ULTRA. All the info was there to see.
