I love my freaking 8800GTX. Bought it on launch day and its still going strong, only game I cant completely max out is Crysis. I could ride this baby out a bit longer to be honest with you but I am getting anxious for a new card. lol.

Same here. The GTX is an awesome card but I'd really like to see a new single GPU highend card from nV.
But I don't mind waiting if there aren't any other good alternatives because there aren't any major game releases in Q1 08 AFAIK.

Yep, from the looks of it the only reason for a new card would be Crysis as the 8800GTX will most likely handle anything coming out in 08 Just fine.

Who would have thought when they were developing Unreal Tournament 3, that they'd actually land way below market hardware capabilities on launch.

There is a first time for everything;)

If it turns out that they only launch a dual gpu (GX2), I am going to try to wait as long as possible before i use my step up for my 8800gts512, so a solid amount of reviews can come out, and they can work out some of the kinks with a few sets of new drivers.

Going to wait for the new single gpu. I don't like these gx2 type of configurations, too many hassles with drivers and profiles. I rather stick to a fast single gpu.

No one really knows wtf is going on except Nvidia. There was a G100 rumor going around a few weeks ago but many people seemed to think that was unlikely given the new D9x naming scheme. There could be a G100, D9E could be a GX2 card, it could have GDDR5, but it's still all pure speculation. Anyone who's in the market for a new high end card would be better off just waiting another month or two before making any definitive decisions.

Personally I think it's a little naive to buy a new G92 card or two to replace G80's with the hope of stepping up - the stepup program works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. I'd rather hold on to my money for the time being than spend it on a card which would provide a marginal improvement at best, and again, still can't max out Crysis.
