I'm not a Sony fanman, I hardly even use my PS3... but there's just too much negative news about PS3 on these forum, so it's time for something postive:

The ps3 outsold the Wii for two weeks in a row in JPN, and now it is back to it's regular sales.

What was the reason behind it? Was there a new game or something?

They probably don't care. As a new PS2 model is cumin out soon, and they're probably going to buy it.

i'm glad to see ps3 is starting to do better. but i'm curious if it's going to keep up much longer.

i'm really glad i have old 60gb model with full backwards compatibility. it's a must for me and it's easier also upscales ps1 and ps2 games which do look nice.

I hate the way when you buy a new console you are forced to throw out your old one. :(

Yah, it does. Winning Element series is very popular in Japan and Asia.

Some JPN analysts have doubts about the sustainability of the ps3 sales http://in.reuters.com/article/technologyNews/idINIndia-30766820071130

Doesn't really apply to me as I dumped my PS2 long ago, but there are still some games I wish I'd played on it which a PS3 purchase would come in handy for (well would have.)

The ps3 started to sell good when they introduced the 40gb models right? It's not a matter of price, as the the PS3 in Japan has always costed less than in the rest of the world. It's the ceramic white (bathroom sanitary style) model which made its debut.

Japanese people go crazy over color variations, the DS and the Gameboy are a testament to that.
