We have a mac airport that I hate, but it USED to work most of the time. Now it won't stay connected to the net, though the cabling, location, and settings of the damn thing stay the same.

For instance, if when the connection is lost, and I simply turn the airport off and then back on, things are fine for a while. Half an hour later, the airport drops connection, even though the actual Qwest box still reads internet and ethernet connections.

Is this possibly due to high humidity? I am at a loss to troubleshoot this problem. It became very bad only yesterday, with dropped connection every hour. Previously, it had been only once or twice a month.

Is the airport shot? It's only 2 years old.

You should move to Chicago and deal with O'Hare Airport. Bigman keeps it running right, no problems yet.

Although, I digress. I have many friends who have macs and they have the exact same problem. I'll ask them and see what they do/have done.

I've dealt with 1 or 2 Airports in my day. All behaved the same way. One all out died a few months later. Sorry I can't offer any help. Although you could try asking your local dwarf.

Thanks for the help. I'll ask the dwarf that lives up Bigman's O'Hairy arse, then I'll throw the airport out the window. I would update you on my progress, except my intern3tz at home is FUBAR. :headexplode:

Hi guys, I made it.

Reset the ethernet converter that I use as a router. Now it can talk to the Apple Airport (after also resetting the AP), which is connected to the Qwest connection point. The airport now 1 story closer to the ethernet converter, so hopefully this connection will stay strong so I can continue my quest for spam and gollems.

I may be disconnected at any moment.
