Hi!

I have a big problem.

I have a dual videocard setup - A GF3Ti200 and a Sis pci card working in xinerama mode.

This works fine with the nv and sis drivers.

But when i use the nvidia driver, the machine crashes hard when i start X - that is i have to do a hard reboot to get it back.

Unfortunately it seem to crash BEFORE any log is written so i cant give you a log to look at :o(

I have tried removing any references to the sis card in my XF86Config-4, but the problem is the same!

The driver is the latest, installed with the installer on a Mandrake 9.1(I have tried compiling it manually, same result).

I have a /proc/drivers/nvidia dir, so the kernel module seem to load fine.

I have tried adding a Option "NvAgp" "0" to my XF86Config-4, but still the same result.

So I am kind of running out of ideas here - plz tell me if you need any more info!

My current config is attached.

What about /var/log/XFree86.0.log ??

i've been experiencing the sme problems as yourself for a while. i'm currently using an older driver (4190 i think)

there should be XFree86.0.log tho.

load it where the machine crashes. then reset the machine select failsafe from the bootup menu and when asked select Text and network. grab /var/log/XFree86.0.log and put it in your home dir

Tried with the 4191 driver - same problem.

Tried removing the Sis card altogether - same problem.

Tripple checked that nothing gets written to the logfile.

The mobo is a A7V133 btw...

I had to change simlinks and all sorts 2 get it to run.

if i was thinking at the time i'd have made a list of them

they are in /usr/lib and /usr/X11R6/lib and /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extentions

change the simlinks that are pointing to *4349*.so files to point to the 4191 eqivilents
