What exactly is this BIOS setting?
When I enable it my 3DMark2001SE score drops a couple of thousand points.

USWC Write Posting - The USWC or Uncacheable Speculative Write Combination setting is found on most boards with AGP capability, this setting enabled may cause problems with graphics cards that do not support it. Even supported cards may have issues with it. Also, this setting enabled offers little performance boost and even decreases performance in some cases. If you're having problems, disable this setting.

This is what I've found so far...

I'm running Windows XP Prof + SP1. I don't know if this is just applicable to ATi cards

only or not, because right now I have a Radeon 9000 and I've also suffered from the many issues related to Counter-Strike

that are somewhat common in many forums, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try. Get into bios setup and look for an option

called Video Memory Cache Mode or something related to USWC and set it to UC (Uncached). Save changes and

reboot. Enter windows and right-click on desktop -> Properties -> Advanced -> Troubleshooting. Make sure Write Combining

is disabled (unticked). Reboot when prompted. Now try Counter-Strike and other games. It will may run a lot smoother.
