OK, I know it's illegal, but I want to have a DVD library stored on my HD from the ones I already have. Since i have an X360 as well, I want to access the movies on my HD and play it into my entertainment center through my 360. What's a good software that will enable me to do this?

What do you guys think of this software? I honestly don't mind paying money for an easy and high quality software. I really don't want to deal with all that complicated step. I just want to pop in a DVD, let it play or whatnot, and convert it to a movie file. Anyone familiar with this software or can recommend any other software that's better?

*cough* *cough* autoGK *cough* *cough*
I used DVD Decryptor to import my DVD's and then stuck them in autoGK to convert all those files into a single .avi.

although that program you found looks ok. a lot easier to use than autoGK probably....it took me a while to figure it out and get it working the way I wanted. And you have to import and then convert. That program you found does it all at once it looks like...

Yeah, thanks for your tips tho Ein, it's appreciated. I did try it to get it to work, but it took so long and I was confused with the amount of data that dropped. After I figured it out (somewhat), I did use autoGK, but then loading up the IFO, I had to choose from a bunch of other datas that confused me even more. So I went in and chose the one with the highest time attached to it. Unfortunately, the program crashed midway, and I've yet to go back into it. :(
It's nice that it's free, but if I have to pay for a good quality software that can do it in one go, I would. I just wanted to make sure if the quality on this one is any good. Not sure if anyone else have/had it to give me some feedback.

Whenever I need to do anything relating to video conversion, I head over to www.videohelp.com . They have guides and links to both pay and free software...There is alot of free software that will convert the .vob files to .avi (or xvid, divx, wmv, etc...whatever floats your boat)...

Yeah those are the problems I had originally with autoGK (not the freezing though). I kept getting confused on the IFO business and which one to pick...that's when I started just importing the movie part of the dvd rather than everything. You do that using the IFO mode in DVD Decryptor. It will automatically select just the main movie part (I think it just picks the longest one...) and you can make it so it copies it into a single file (rather than into 1GB chunks). Then when you use autoGK there is only one option to pick. Works everytime.
As for it locking up...don't know why it would do that. Were you doing anything else at the time? It's never locked up on me.
