Seoul based Reloaded Studios have announced a licensing agreement with Crytek, which will allow the former to use CryENGINE 2 in a new action-strategy MMORPG. However, further details about this new title were not offered at this time.

Frankfurt, Germany / Seoul, Korea, September 15 – Reloaded Studios, a recently formed Korean game development company, today announce that they have entered into a licensing agreement with Crytek, the German developers of the highly anticipated upcoming release, Crysis, for use of the award winning CryENGINE 2 middleware to develop their new Action Strategy MMORPG.

“Our technology team carefully reviewed and analyzed both the features and limitations of all of the major game engines and middleware solutions which are currently available to license, before making our choice.” says Ki-Yong Cho, Chief Executive Officer of Reloaded Studios. “No other engine came close to offering the dynamic features, developer friendly tools, or provided anything near the visual quality of the CryENGINE 2. We felt it was extremely important when our game is eventually released that it will still be able to stand apart from all other titles, either currently existing or presently in development, in what is now already a very competitive market. We felt only the CryENGINE 2 could support the dynamic content and massive landscapes we intend to build, let alone do justice to the unique art style we plan on bringing to our MMO. Licensing the CryENGINE 2 was an obvious and unanimous choice.”

“We are really looking forward to working together with Reloaded Studios on this exciting new game development.” said Faruk Yerli, managing director of Crytek, “The experienced team that Reloaded Studios has brought together will ensure they have the talent and resources to create a blockbuster hit with this title. When we saw the stunning concept visuals and exciting game design ideas they shared with us we immediately knew that what they have planned will be a true next-generation MMORPG, and become the kind of game which will set the visual and game play standards against which future MMO‘s will be judged.”

yeah it looks interesting. I think this one adopts the free to play model as well, meaning that you get to play for free but the game is funded by people buying items and services from the item mall correct?

Someone needs to make an RPG that ISN'T an MMO using Cryengine 2.

Its not like the boat on land in the first Crysis map locked wrecked either. And looking at the other pics it looks like a big blend of genres allowing for strange stuff to happen. But of course if the plane really did crash it does not compute.

Aren't MMORPG's supposed to run on low end machines so the hoards can play them?

I donno how this is gonna run. It may look nice and all..but will probably run far worse than Crysis it self, with soo much detail/stress on the cpu and gpu on a MMO point of view..its gonna run like really..really ****..

Now if it was something like Witcher...that would..look awsome =)

If all they have are a few concept art images, and recently decided on the engine, this game wont be out in a few years.
Expect better hardware by then.

Also, being a MMO, the content they put in the engine will probably be scaled accordingly, since MMOs try to target as wide a audience as possible (well, seconded: EQ2), and they need to offer the same advantages to everyone, the lowest end spec, as the highest, which makes scaling a bit harder to accomodate.
So if they put some thought into it, they´ll make it playable.

The pictures seriously look like art production, not screen shots. colors are abit awash, and the level of detail is that of a final product. ^^

Seriously though, I have to agree with the above post, if only because I honestly think you need to have made a GOOD single player or atleast non MMO RPG before you can even attempt an MMO.

Hopefully this time cryengine 2 will have a half decent game to play along side with the graphics.

this is second MMO to be based on cryengine. First one is by NCSOFT in development still. But looks like GW clone.

True..but the engine it self is ahead of its time...you will need some really amazing hardware to run this game on a MMO level. This is a FPS engine where detail is down to everything..when it switches to a MMO POV from top view..its gonna be pretty dam crazy..

Prob need GF10/Quad Dual Cores...and..is this going to be cheap? IF only the the rich people can afford it..then the community will be small..
