A little ginger kid from manchester? Those guys are always hard ****ers. I have no idea why. My money is with the squeeky voiced Manc. As a Yorkshireman that was hard to say. But say it I did.

I'll be watching it live Saturday night with friends.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is pound for pound the best boxer in the world right now. Ginger kid doesn't have a prayer.

I'm not even going to watch it because it will be so one sided.

Have you seen Hatton fight? The man is a machine.

Yes I've seen him. He fights like a heavy weight. He's a power puncher. Mayweather Jr. is the opposite. For every 1 punch Hatton throws, Mayweather has already thrown 3.

Hatton has never proven himself against a top boxer.
Mayweather has.

This fight is a gimmick. They are playing this "undefeated" thing for all its worth. Mayweather is in an entirely different league than Hatton.

And I'm with bob saget. I can't stand Mayweather's attitude. As a person, i don't like him at all. However, you can't deny the man's skill and heart in the ring.

I love the advertising thats being done for this fight so people "love" hatton and "hate" mayweather. Its amusing to say the least.

That for me is the intrigue. Hatton is a heart and skill combination.

Hatton's strategy is going to be get in close, just like he does with every one of his opponents. Mayweather is going to light him up for trying this flawed strategy. Watch and see.

I'm not doubting Hatton is a good fighter. He's a great fighter. He is training to brawl. Mayweather is a boxer. A 100% pure tactical boxer. A great fighter against a good boxer, the fighter will win most of the time. A great fighter against a great boxer, the boxer will win nearly every time. Theres no comparison.

Hatton is definitely the "better person" out of this and even I want to see Mayweather just STFU for once. Its just not happening. Not this fight. Mayweather still has a while to go before he has a loss.

i find it interesting how when Mayweather is not attacking or moving forward, kind of leanes forward, with his arms down, almost as if daring the opponent to throw the punch. He obviously knows he will be fast enough to move back, but still, this kind of defensive posture is quite unique, I have not seen anyone else fight like that. Maybe once he feels an opponent out, he does that, I know in the Gatti(sp) fight, he used that alot.

If he does that with Hatton he will be on his arse in no time, i guarantee it.

Mayweather uses a lot of Ali's techniques in the ring. What you just described is exactly how Ali became so successful.

Sorry to say, but that technique is ALL Mayweather is going to be using.

As a few of you guys know, I am a former Amateur boxer. If I had to choose between a heavy hitter and a fast puncher, I would choose the heavy hitter every time. Boxers as fast as Mayweather and De La Hoya are just downright scary.

Worst beating I ever got in a ring was a simple spar where I went against an 18 year old who I outweighed by 20 POUNDS. I outweighed him significantly, but he was so fast he made me pay for stepping foot in the ring. He beat me so bad I suffered a concussion. Being amatuer boxing I had HEADGEAR on and to be honest, he didn't even punch hard. He just hit me so many times I couldn't see straight. My fighting style is a lot like Hatton's(although 1000x less skilled). I'm a brawler fighter. Strength is all I had. If I didn't knock them out, I was going to lose to the judges. I simply was never fast enough to cope with a pure boxing style.

Mayweather's conditioning, speed, and skill are unmatched by any boxer atm. Hatton has the edge on strength. The ONLY way I see Mayweather losing is if he somehow does something stupid and Hatton gets a lucky punch in. Hatton CAN win this fight, but it will be more due to god's will and lucky than anything else. Mike Tyson's first loss was against a significantly worse boxer(Douglas) that happened to get in a lucky punch. These things DO happen. Luck is a part of the game. However, luck aside, Mayweather is the better contender. If the bout does somehow make it to judges decision, Mayweather will win by unanimous decision. Hatton knows this. If Hatton doesn't take Mayweather out within the first 4 rounds, Mayweather will win.

I cant totally agree with you Tygerwoody. No doubt Mayweather is the favourite to win and has faster hands but Hatton isn't just a power puncher. He may be powerful but 'slower' than Mayweather but he throws a lot more punches per round and he knows how to control people in the ring forcing them in to the positions he wants them in.

You can argue that Hatton has never proved himself but there is a good reason for it: He's British. If he was based in the US he would have had three or four massive name fights by now, and he would've probably still remained undefeated.

This fight could be over in a couple of rounds or it could go on for a while depending on both their tactics for the night but I'm sure it is not going to one-sided as you predict either way.

I am with you. I only like Mayweather in the ring. Hatton seems like a good guy but Mayweather is just plain awesome at this stage in his game.

Everyone has written Hatton off, like they do nearly everytime he gets in the ring. He thrives off of being the underdog, infact he oftens plays himself down just to assert himself as the underdog.

It's going to be a long fight, but if Hatton gets on the inside just once.... and I mean ONCE, Mayweather is going down.

If it goes the distance, my money's on a Mayweather win.

If Mayweather has an off day (which is rare) and allows Hatton to fight on the inside, it's lights out and another win for the hitman.

? Everyone has written Hatton off? Wow. Maybe we are talking to completely different people or live on different planets. Everyone and their mom is voting for Hatton to win. Problem is , it litterally is people and their moms voting on Hatton. There is so much money that is going to be won from this fight. So many people are falling into this trap of "Good and Evil" that is boxing, they aren't looking at skill.

Skill wise, Hatton's chances are next to nil. "If Hatton gets inside just once, Mayweather is going down". Mayweather is a trained boxer. "Just Once" won't cut it. Just twice won't cut it. Hatton will have to wear Mayweather down. Problem with that is Mayweather is the Master of wearing his opponent down, NOT Hatton.

While the whole "undefeated" thing looks great and sells tickets, don't kid yourself. Mayweather will mop the floor with Hatton's crooked face. Something very controversial will have to happen for Hatton to somehow pull this out.

I'm with you. I WANT Hatton to win. Mayweather is a grade A Jerkface. I don't think he's just a jerk for the cameras either. It seems like its pretty genuine.

My cheers are for Hatton, but my money is on Mayweather. :D

I would like Hatton to win but my heart says Mayweather by 10 on cuts.

edit: we can only hope Hatton lands a left hook to the body similar to the hook which destroyed Luis Castillo.

Uhhhh.

Sure, Hatton frustrates many with his hit, hold and hook technique but you cannot deny that he has proven himself. Do you remember his bout with Kostya Zu? I agree that he is outclassed by Mayweather but several of his previous opponents outclassed him technically as well.
