New contruction, loan approved, 6% Yeah BABY!!!
My first house I bought In 1984 at 11%. Several houses later I'm at 6% myself. You can get alot more house at 6% instead of 11%. Congratulations:D

With mortgage rates so low, it makes no sense to rent if you plan on living in a particular area for any length of time. My mortgage is at 5% which is 1/4% less than what we signed up for originally. :D
In any case, congrats on buying. It's a great feeling to know that you own your place, to build equity and sell it later for more money than you paid for it.

Congratulations...that's the next step up in the ownership ladder.
Unfortunately, I'm a step behind you...I'm still saving up for a car ownership.

Exactly!! I figure I was pissing away 700 bills a month for someone else's mortgage, so after a point it stopped making sense.
Oh yeah and with those VA benifits, no downpayments :) The deal was too sweet to pass up!

I'll pass on what my dad passed to me, if it's your first car, don't buy new, pick up a good reliable used car. Honda's, Toyota's something high up on the reliability ladder, that way you wont feel to bad if you wreck it *still missed his first car*

Right now I'm driving the family's 1985 Toyota Cressida. Been driving for 2.5 years now. I'm looking at a 350Z though.

oh sweetness :D
but if you can't' afford that.. consider the nissan sentra type-R spec v... 6 speed manual tranny... and it is quite fast... and the suspension is quite stiff :)
4 seater too so insurance is low...
like I said... a consideration... about half the price... and only around a second and a bit slower than the 350Z in the 0-60 :D
plus.. get a new intake and kick up the hp... :D
