Improving 2D Performance

I've sucessfully configured nvidia driver, but the windows aren't redrawn smothly while I drag them.

Any suggestion for improving the redraw speed of the windows?

Note: I've tried tunning the options in XF86Config and the option

Option "FlatPanelProperties" "Scaling = centered, Dithering = enabled"

seems to speed up things, but is not perfect yet.
Another note: I'm using KDE 2 in Mandrake 8.0.

Is RenderAccel stable for you?

Option "RenderAccel" "true" in your XF86Config-4 Device section will turn it on, but it doesn't work for everyone, so the default is off. If you see weird stability issues (or just messed-up 2D), turn it off.
