I could sell all the movies on ebay, and get the player for free practically.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_6032562_1?ie=UTF8&docId=1000172611&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=hero-quick-promo&pf_rd_r=0JTMQ8DHC7PJNFGRH55J&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=338653801&pf_rd_i=B000U62N1S

I'm guessing this will only last a day or two. Hop on while you've still got a chance.

oh yeah, free shipping + a $30 savings if you sign up for an Amazon.com Visa card.

So I bit on this deal. The whole package cost me about $170 for an A3 and 12 movies. Not a bad deal.

3 (how many you can pick) + 2 (the ones in the box) + 5 (the ones you can pick from the form) = 10 hd-dvds....

Nice bargain. Blu-ray should really be offering something similar! :)

Hehe don't try and tell me that the PS3 is more plagued by crashes and other hardware problems as the 360 :p

Yea.. I was half planning on getting one this chrismas, but I've postponed it to Xmas 2008 :)

If they sold a PS3 with 10 or 12 good Blu-ray movies I wouldn't hesitate so much though :D

That's kind of backwards. For me a "killer system" would be the one with the best games.

The system itself can be killer. If the hardware design (build-in power supply, very silent, lots of connectivity options (bluetooth etc.)), hardware power performance, user interface, free online service etc. is really good but the system is missing out the killer games, it could be a killer system without killer games in a way :D

yeah mine just came today too. Picture quality is excellent. For some odd reason the Top Gun HD-DVD disc doesn't work. When I insert it it tries to read it for about 30 seconds then says "no disc." Maybe I got a bad disc. Other than that I love it.

did you update the firmware to 1.3 (mine was 1.1)? maybe it needs that to play....

Ok so I updated the firmware, and Top Gun now works fine. Wierd. I wouldn't think an old firmware would keep a movie from playing but apparently so.

BTW Top Gun on HD-DVD is awesome. I'm amazed at the video transfer. It's like this movie was filmed in 2003.

Versions 1.0 & 1.1 of the HD-A3 firmware had some read problems like the one you experienced. Version 1.3 fixed them, as you also experienced. :)
