I just downloaded and installed the most recent drivers (NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4349). Everything with the install seemed to go just fine. No errors. I edited my XF86Config as appropriate. When I try to startx, my screen goes black immediately and then it looks like someone threw up on it. It's just a bunch of scrambled junk. Then it completely locks my entire system and I have to hit the reset button. I have been using the 'nv' driver just fine on this system at 1024 x 768, Hf running at 68.9kHz, Vf at 85Hz. Monitor is a Korea Data Systems Avitron AV-7T.

NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti 4200
Red Hat 9 (kernel 2.4.20-9)
Athlon XP 2000
Gigabyte GA-7VAXP

Thanks,
Brian

This is a known KT400 issue. Please see the "KT400 Workaround" thread, or check out the errata on the driver download page for some workarounds.

This will be addressed in the next release of the driver.
