Slaughtering livestock and dogfighting are two very different things. The comparisons you guys are drawing here are ludicrous.
You are right....comparing him to a child molester or a serial murderer is ludicrous. He's going to a federal pen. You don't get to go there unless you've done something really wrong. 2 years in a regular prison does not compare to a fed prison.

Dogs have feelings, they felt every bit of pain they were given. I'm glad this piece of trash is going to rot in a federal prison for two years and never be allowed back into the NFL.

I never said that he did not deserve his sentence....in fact, if the court was to hand out a 10 year sentence, then he would have gotten what he deserved.

All I'm saying is that he is not in the ranks of a serial killer, or a rapist. I could go to another level as to say that he's not in the ranks of an abortionist, but I won't go there in this forum...but you get my drift.

Yea...I have to wonder about a person that will get all worked up over a dog dying opposed a child dying. I do not like anyone being cruel to animals, but some of these people that get worked up over stuff like this really don't have their priorities straight.

there is a difference between stepping on a bug and drowning an 80 lbs pit bull. How about torturing them or eletrocuting them to death? let alone making them fight each other to death or letting them intentionally kill smaller breeds just for the heck of it.

Yes it does, no disagreement there. Something being overlooked though, or underestimated, is what 2 years hard time might be like.

I never did time myself, but I did work with guys trying to re-adjust after serving 2-20 years. 23 months is a heck of a long bad stretch to some people. Vick "had it all" and stupidly blew it. He has plenty of hard times coming.

all depends on the culture/society you live in. other cultures are shocked at the way we treat cattle. hell, we farm them and breed them to die and some other cultures worship them.

Yeah that's a good point. TBH, while most people here scoff at something like a 6 month sentence, I bet most of them wouldn't make it if they had to do it. I know if I had to do 6 months, I'd be ****in traumatized. If the amount of times I get hit on by some idiot queen is any indication, I'd be getting ass-raped 24/7.

First of all, Doc has never played the race card in any post I've ever seen, so I don't know where you're getting that BS from, but it's a pretty disrespectful and messed up thing to say. Second, people don't deserve jail time for being "stupid and ignorant", they deserve it when they commit felonies, then lie about it repeatedly and act like they couldn't give a crap about the situation they're in. That is likely why Vick's sentence ended up the way it did. I feel no pity for this guy, regardless of the kind of prison he's going to. He ended up worse off than he could have because he decided to get stoned and lie AFTER he'd been arrested. And frankly being a dog lover myself, I despise with a passion any monster that could do what he did.

Vick is an American who comes from American culture and who broke American laws. Perspective has nothing to do with this. Yes I know dogs are killed and sold as food in some countries. While personally I think that's gross, the intent is not malicious. You're going to tell me that electrocuting, hanging, and beating dogs to death because they weren't "tough enough" for fighting is a matter of perspective?

Exactly - I don't think I would make it, especially after what some of the guys I helped rehab. told me. Vick is in for a bad time for sure. Just the fact he's a celeb alone means plenty of 2 & 3 time losers will want to "show him his place".

He could be in for a really long 2 years.
