advice needed on 8 series vCard.

I'm getting a new PC soon, Unsure however of which video card to get, and which producer to buy it from (XFX, Evga.. ect) I need some help.
I was thinking of the GT, but I've heard of problems like overheating. If I was to get one, who should I buy it with?
I'm not paying more than the 8800 Ultra, it is slightly too much.

If you can wait the 9x series will supposedly be released in Feb. The 8800gt with a new larger fan is also to be released very soon.

I bought a PNY 8800gt about a month ago and it does get warm, but the stock cooler on high does the job. I usually stick with BFG tech, but they were sold out on release in a few hours. I am happy with it, and after I put a cooler on it things should be fine.
