Doesn't make up for the class of his country, but still good to know he did not approve of how poorly his fans acted.

For the most part, the Hatton fans were great: Their singing and cheering lent a type of energy to the event that I've never before seen at a boxing match

This is the double edged sword you get with British sports fans. The craziest are often the best.

Reminds me of college parties.

The craziest/funnest people were all ****ing retards who still live at home with their parents and work at McDonalds. So I guess it goes along the lines of the fact some people never grow up.

If the ref hadn't been such a blithering idiot, I don't think the fans would have turned out the way they did at the end.

The bout was decided when the ref decided to dock Hatton a point for a behind the head blow in the middle rounds.

... I take it you didn't watch the fight. That or you are completely blind(sorry).

The bout was decided when Hatton got his ass whooped. It wasn't even a close match. Out of the 10 rounds, 9 of them were awarded to Mayweather.

About the "ref being a blithering idiot". If anything the ref let HATTON get away with more than he should have. The ref did not give a single call in favor of Mayweather he shouldn't have. The one call that Hatton went after the back of Mayweather's head TWICE, the ref was completely right to deduct a point. Hatton DID hit Mayweathers head the first time, then Hatton went to hit him AGAIN in the back of the head, which thank god was blocked by the ropes. Again, watch the fight.

"I don't think the fans would have turned out that way" . OK, please explain this to me. I would really like to hear it . Reason being is the National Anthem was booed BEFORE the fight had even started. The referee wasn't even in the ring for god sakes. :rofl You fall prey to the media far too easily.

Again, watch the fight. I know you will come back and say you have, but you clearly have not.

Bottom line. Mayweather beat Hatton every way imaginable.

Mayweather had a clean fight. Never once got even close to not abiding by the rules.
Hatton fought dirty. The entire fight he was grabbing Mayweather and punching(which is shuned upon in boxing). The ref let it slide though. Not only that, but the punch to the back of the head and then trying to punch in the back of the head again can be grounds for disqualification. Hatton is lucky the ref let him get by.

Mayweather had Hatton beat by a LANDSLIDE victory if it were to go to decision. Hatton only had 1 round he "won" in according to the judges.

Mayweather landed TWICE AS MANY PUNCHES than Hatton. With that said, Hatton threw 50+ MORE punches than Mayweather.

Mayweather had a 40% punch to contact ratio.
Hatton was only 17%.

Mayweather knocked Hatton down twice within a span of 15 seconds. Hatton even said he was outclassed.

Mayweather is the best pound for pound fighter in the WORLD.
Hatton fought dirty through the rankings to somehow get a title shot. Hatton is not a boxer in my eyes.

In 10 years if you are speaking boxing and mention the name "Mayweather", you will hear about how he was one of the best boxers of all time.
In 10 years if you are speaking boxing and mention the name "Hatton", you will hear "who?".

Hatton got his chance and blew it. He even stated this himself. Hatton will never get another title shot. He's just not good enough.

Good enough has nothing to do with title shots. If they can generate anything like the amount of money this fight did, it will be on pretty quickly.

Of course its based on money. Yes I agree with you there. However, Hatton is now shown for what he really is. A mediocre boxer with a lot of dirty tricks. The reason this past fight was such a success was based on the whole "Undefeated" campaign. That won't work this next time around.

Hatton will HAVE to take out a top contender boxer if he hopes of ever selling a good amount of tickets. Hatton doesn't have anything special about him that would make a crowd want to follow him. He's not controversial. He looks like quasimodo. He's not even a good boxer. Why would anyone want to go see him? He has nothing.

The ONLY way I see of Hatton selling out a crowd like this past boxing match was if he were to go against Oscar De La Hoya(hands down the most POPULAR boxer of all time for selling tickets). Which sorry, Oscar would make mince meat out of Hatton, even at an old age. Either way, I don't think Oscar would lower himself enough to fight someone like that. Its just not worth it to him.
