I'm starting this thread as directed to report a problem with this specific hardware configuration. This is in regards to my earlier post at:
---
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&postid=105941#post105941

I will try to include all the relevant information, but I do not have a current XFree86.0.log from one of these crashes. I will try to include one as soon as it happens again.

My XF86Config-4:
---
### BEGIN DEBCONF SECTION
# XF86Config-4 (XFree86 server configuration file) generated by dexconf, the
# Debian X Configuration tool, using values from the debconf database.
#
# Edit this file with caution, and see the XF86Config-4 manual page.
# (Type "man XF86Config-4" at the shell prompt.)
#
# If you want your changes to this file preserved by dexconf, only make changes
# before the "### BEGIN DEBCONF SECTION" line above, and/or after the
# "### END DEBCONF SECTION" line below.
#
# To change things within the debconf section, run the command:
# dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
# as root. Also see "How do I add custom sections to a dexconf-generated
# XF86Config or XF86Config-4 file?" in /usr/share/doc/xfree86-common/FAQ.gz.

I thinks that's about it. It's worth noting also that with the latest release (4349) my GL modes of xlockmore-gl seem to just stall out at some point. If you hit a key on the keyboad, the standard "enter password" screen comes up for xlock and the module it says it's currently drawing is not the GL module (if enough time has passed) that is last shown on the screen. This is new in 4349 (I didn't see it in the 3xxx branch and I didn't run the first 4xxx release since multiple X servers would not work properly).

I will try to post output from /var/log/XFree86.0.log next time this happens, but I'm not thinking it will contain anything useful unless you want me to bump up the verbosity of messages coming from X.

As far as I know all unofficial module drivers (yours and vmware, the only ones I run) as well as the kernel have been compiled with gcc-3.2.3 or thereabouts.

Also, I can add the specs from my machine at home which does the same thing which is an Athlon based Via chipset motherboard. Do you want that in this same thread?
