I believe the NV40 will be out this year. You should all remember how the GFFX won the award for best hardware of 2002 ;)

Lets don't just set target but achieve it.
:ORDER:
Ok lets say the NV40 will be announced in late Nov. Here are some hard questions: will the NV40 have the same mediocre AA and ani?
Have some features out been cut out just to get out the NV40 asap?
It will have a changed AA/AF implementation, but whether those changes will mean a "better" result or not, is up to you.
I don't think any features have been cut, no. It's not as if they're rushing it out years ahead of schedule. It was meant as a spring 2004 part, and they've just bumped it up a couple of months, same as with the NV35 (which was looking to be a late summer/fall part). The NV30 delay has even less effect on the NV40 than the NV35, naturally.

Don't they use 2 alternating design teams? In that case the same team that made the nv30 would be working on the nv40 so the nv30 delay very well could have effected the nv40 release date.
3 GPU teams, afaik - Same as ATi. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

ATI has only 2 teams.
Im sure ATi is going to be sitting on their thumbs while this happens................ NOT!!
ATi is no longer the pushover they once were.

Well i get the feeling that since DX9 is going to not change for a good 2 years or so, all they are gonna focus on is.
Make the same core Smaller, then clock it up more, wash rince repate.
then maybe add lowk or someing to allow it to be clocked up even faster.
Kinda like cpus for a bit.

You're probably right about that. Heck, it's nothing bad, either. Because by not adding features, you can increase performance more. And you can really make use of the current graphics features even better with a lot more performance.

Would be very nice to be proved wrong though. :D
MuFu.
I remember you saying that both NV40 and R400 would put any todays hardware to a shame.
If the NV40 appears later this year would that mean that R390 (todays hardware?) would be worst? at least technology wise...
Sorry for the bad english. it isn't my native language
