Hello there folks,
I just wonder what res, settings and mods (interested in texture mods mostly) are you using and what FPS are you guys getting.

I have Opteron 165 @ 2.6 GHz and will be buying 8800GT as soon as it is available here in Sweden, so I wonder if I'll be able to enjoy it in its full glory at least :)

Am bit worried about lack of RAM though :(

P.S. Will be playing on 1680x1050 res btw and at least with full AF and as much AA as I can squeeze (x2 or x4)
Thank you for your time!

I play at that same resolution with Captain Kills LOD texture pack and Quarl's Texture pack 3. I use 16x af and 4x aa. With those settings, the game runs and looks great. Moving up to 8x aa introduces a disproportional amount of stuttering and hitching suggesting that the frame buffer is overloaded.

In other words, when it runs it runs great on Geforce 8s, unfortunately, it's broken for me. I get a lot of hard lock ups that Bethesda is trying to blame on overclocks and codec packs which I know isn't true. So to answer your question, the geforce 8800gt runs awesome, and to end my rant, Bethesda sucks.

Oops, forgot to post my framerates. In large open areas such as outside of the Imperial City looking out to the mountains, my framerates tend to hover in the upper 30s, in cities and in the marshes, I'm usually looking at 50-60fps. I play with the vsinc on, so I don't see anything higher than 60. I do get a few drops into the upper teens when crossing loading zones, but other than that, it's all smooth, well up until the screen goes black and I have to reset my computer.

i have heard that QTP III might be a bit hard on hardware and such has some Oblivion folks chosen QTP II ad it is less demanding
i use QTP III with LOD10/20 and Quarl´s normal compressed 4096 something.
and somem other mods but the almost everything visible when distant mod is not recommended as it requires at least a E& C2D cpu and 8800GTX prefeably might be better with a 8800ULTRA for those mods combied.

i tried it once and i got 0-2fps outdoors

Well I did a quick test with 2 8800 gt's.
1680x1050, everything maxed including hdr. 16xAA and 32xAA ran smooth as butter for the time I tested it.

Is it to much hussle for you to try and run just one GT Slie? No idea how SLI works, can it be disabled in software?

See above, I only have one card.
