The **** hits the fan @ 2 today. Clemens has already been mentioned, and the report has an additional 60-80 plays including MVPs and All-Stars. This could get very interesting.
Thoughts?

I'm definitely interested to hear the names of all the cheaters. I wonder what the league is going to do to them... they usually don't like to punish their stars. I've heard Roger Clemens and Andy Pettite this morning.
20 minutes to go.

Nearly all sports figures cheat and use sport enhancing drugs. I've said this time and time again, but people still look at it shockingly. "zomG RoID RAGE!!!!"

Nice list of cheaters... Miggy, Rocket, Mo Vaughn, Bonds, etc.
The whole thing can be read at espn.com.
Not surprising but I wonder if Clemens is going to catch hell like Bonds or get the "*" next to his name.(lee)
Baseball...blah. I've never been a fan of it. It's not as intense of a sport as football, yet the guys dope up like crazy. How many baseballers leave games due to injuries sustained? If you can hit and knock the hell out of the ball, then you are home-free. This is just a bigger turn off for me as far as ever possibly liking the sport. I'm not declaring football to be dope free, but it's not the one under the spotlight right now either.

Clemens will catch hell for it. Neither Barry nor Clemens will get the * on the records.
They are talking about branding a * on Barry's 756 ball. LOL

You just knew I was gonna say something eh, creatine boy? :p
I think we need to check Tygershake for doping. He may be trying to get an advantage in COD4.

This "leaked" list is total BS! A former POLITICIAN smearing people in the middle of a hearing on this topic is disgusting. Sure they cheated but releasing this list is just garbage and some of the players are already dead or retired. What good does this do? Why are we wasting public money on this?
I am not defending the cheaters but pointing out how dirty this "leak" stunt is.
ppl still care about this?
*yawn*
when will pre-season start again?

Have you read the report? They're cheaters, screw them. What, are you a Yankees fan too now? :headexplode:

Of course they are cheaters and yet I read it and NO I FURKING HATE THE YANKIES AND AWAYS HAVE. You missed my point. The "leaking" of this is a dirty PR stunt by a former politician. As if that politician is a picture purity.

As if that politician is a picture purity.if they players feel wronged by the Mitchell report they can sue. since the report was made public, the fact that names were "leaked" is a non-issue (their names were going to be made public anyway). the issue shouldn't be the early release of names but whether the players are actually drug cheats and what baseball will do about it. if MLB does nothing, falling back on the old excuse that the Union is dragging its feet on the drug testing issue, then this whole investigation will have been a waste of time.
i downloaded the PDF file of the Mitchell report and will read through it, since several Blue Jays were mentioned, ie former Jays Glenallen Hill, Clemons (who may have started his steroid use in Toronto), Canseco, and current Jays Glaus and Zaun.
the next step for the players mentioned in the report: deny, deny, deny.

Are you referring to the players' names in the report as a "leak?"
I'll show you a leak.

You guys keep missing my point. This isn't about players bringing a lawsuit based on this list. It is the grand standing and the fact that this is even a major public issue. Our government has NO business getting involved. That is the point.
I don't give a rats behind about the players. They are all spoiled asshats.

I was not surprised by anyone I saw on that list. I despise all of them for doing it.

I don't give a rats behind about the players. They are all spoiled asshats.the distribution of steroids illegal. steroid use by players is against the rules and also against the spirit of sport in general. that's why the government is involved and that's why it is a major public issue. close to 80 million people attended MLB games in the 2007 season -- they shouldn't have to question whether a home-run or a 100 Mph fast-ball was fueled by anything else then the athlete's natural strength and talents.

Man those wkipedia writers are crazy fast. When I read Chuck Knoblach was on the list this afternoon, being he was my favorite player as a kid, I pulled him and the page had already been updated. That was like 20mins after the list came out.

Then file a criminal law suit. How ever that is not what the government did. They held a pathetic hearing in congress. FOR WHAT!? Grand standing. Even Meth agrees with me on this. If you want to file criminal charges then do it. Do not do it the way they are doing now, by making it political and using extensive amounts of government money to put on a public trial.
Who cares how many people watch major league baseball and what they think or question. That should have no bearing on breaking the law.

the hearings in Congress and the Mitchell report that was released today are two entirely different things. the report was funded by MLB, not the US gov't, and was started by Bud Selig. this is not a criminal investigation. rather, it is MLB's attempt to clean up the steroid culture in baseball and part of it's response to Congress' claims that steroids are widely used in sport, baseball in particular. the gov't has an interest in MLB because it is a protected monopoly.
